ok Honest Opinion here.

it has potential... as a tourer... hear me out.

The rear end is wrong for this, but everything is right.
if they extend the rear subframe more and add mounting points for hardbags and a tail bag, with the passenger seating position this could be a good replacement for the ST.
It has a comfortable looking seating position and the power for 2-up with luggage riding.
the exhausts are low to keep heat away from passegers
I think they've already thought of this after viewing the touring windscreen they have available
I also think the rear t-bar for the passenger is cool, but should come higher to act as a backstop for the seat.
My wife hates the feeling there is nothing behind her after the seat.

I do hate the wierd cover from the light, but adding the touring screen made it flow better.

and for color choice.... White looks pretty good.

now... go ahead and flame me for not hating on it.

Check out the configurator section for the diavel on the ducati website. They already have  replacement pipes for it and i have to say it looks much better than the stock

wow, nope - especially in that red/silver.

just watched the official video... couple of things struck me...
1- Ducati Marketing totally BOTCHED the music selection..
2- Not ONE natural sound of the bike in the video...
3- Was it me, or was he steering INTO the corners not countersteering?
4- If attitude is what this bike is about... this video SUCKED

NO WAY is that commercial going to draw in American powerbike buyers

Reading this thread makes me want to get one of these and slap old school Ducati Indiana badges on it just to be an ass.  [laugh]

from the video and photos, looks like you need all your body weight and then some to make that turd turn.  The handlebars also didn't look comfortable to the rider either.

There is one thing I REALLY like on it..... the license plate holder.

Much better with the windscreen and exhaust. I hope that they offer similar exhaust for the 1100.

The windscreen makes it worse, looks like it belongs in the Tron sequel

I agree with you.  Watching the video I couldn't help but think of it like a bmw k1200s for size and length and luggage options.

Two ways to build the Diavel:  stripped down muscle cruiser or high speed tourer.  Both could be cool if done right.

As for exhausts?  As asked before -- I can confirm 100% as of Saturday that our Duc.EE works on the Diavel. (and tested on the MS1200 as well a few weeks ago)  Exhausts options are now wide open and one can easily get rid of the dang servo motor and butterfly valve mechanism without any dash lights or EXVL messages appearing.
