How do people feel about J5's suggestion for an 8:30 depart from Richmond

(I know someone that won't be too happy about having to leave home around 6:00am)

I don't think it's that necessary seeming as we are now in daylight savings there is no real need to leave at sparrows fart.
If we're talking about 350-400 k's that's not a really long day.

Betty

I think the key will be to arrive at our intended lunch destination at an appropriate time ... so it needs someone that knows the route to plan/map it out ... the work backwards to a departure time.

Just remember you might have me along slowing you all down.

But you're on the fastest bike  ;D

BTW a friend of mine on a Monster 1100 will also be coming.

J5

i stuck a map up here

http://www.motowhere.com/maps/route/richmond-oberon-tarana-richmond

its 130k to oberon from richmond and prob a couple of hours  stop for fuel then about 20 mins out to oconnell pub for lunch

so about 3 hours i guess for round figures

been a while since i have done this one

we dont go down into jenolan caves as iirc there is dirt out the other side, besides the fact of tourist buses down there
i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

mattyvas

Just as an FYI the last 3 times I/we've riden down into and out of Jenolan Caves there is no dirt out the other side into Oberon.
Unless we have gone a different way but there seems only one road out.

J5

ok fair enough can make some noise in there then ;)

from richmond through the cave its 156k to oberon and about 2.5 hours to oberon so says google maps

stop for fuel oberon and 20 mins to oconnell pub

Jealous much.  Have done these roads (on my own).  You need to factor in 'chin wag time' for your rides though. Just an idea.

What the Lammie? Jukie thought I should test out the long range fuel tank. I plan to be on the Monster
