Added Decibel readings of exhaust to first post.

These readings are POST baffle install.

Here are the decible readings with the current exhaust:
*the reading off of the back was taken at seat cowl height above the back end of the rear tire. ~2feet off of bike's rear. The "on tank" reading was taken with the device on the tank (not touching it, that would cause interference)

Idle
Off back 100 dB
On tank  102 dB

4750 rpm
Off back 117 dB
On tank 120 dB

7000rpm
Off back 126 dB
On tank128 dB

Are these readings after adding the additional baffling or have you not done that yet?

After adding the baffling!!!

To be honest, I feel as if the baffle may have somehow amplified the volume. This weekend I'll be removing it and re-testing in all the same positions.

Just finished up installing a set of Woodcraft rearsets. Went fairly smoothly with one major issue.

I'll post up more info tomorrow when I can get photos in the daylight.

Too cold in the garage so I brought her inside to work on.

"Major issue" is an understatement; your face is yellow!

What do you mean, that's my actual face?

I know you like that shirt though...  8)

OK. Grabbed some photos today after the install was officially finished.

This is how it all started!

Like I said before. It went OK... for the most part. Left side went on no problem and led me to believe the brake side would be just as easy.

it was NOT. The short version of the problem I encountered is:

The stepped spaced provided to be used between the main bolt and the rearset bracket was a hair too thick at the smaller end. When inserted into the bracket it contacted the mounting post sticking out of the swingarm pivot too soon and prevented the bolt from squeezing the rearset bracket tightly. As a result when everything was cinched down there was still 1/16" play and the whole bracket would wiggle a bit.

Obviously this was not going to work...

This pic shows what I am describing:

I sourced a SS metric washer from my local Ace hardware and used a bench grinder to thin the washer to the perfect thickness, I almost lost a finger in the process.

Here you can see where I added a washer to provide the necessary depth for the stepped spacer.
From the outside in: Main Bolt->Stepped Spacer->Rearset bracket->Improvised spacer->Swingarm mount point.

You will note that there is roughly 1/4" gap between the improvised spacer and the actual swingarm. The washer I used has an identical diameter to the post that sticks out of the swingarm and it looks quite nice installed.

As a result of the added space at the main bolt the two lower mounting points needed to have additional spacers added. The provided ones were no long enough anymore. FTR before I spaced the top and cinched everything down tight the first time the provided spacer were STILL too short which leads me to believe it was improper machining.

2 spacers(washers) on each side of both black spacers:

After this little hiccup the job was complete. The final product was VERY stable and looked damn good.

Overall, my heel position was raised a total of 2.5" and it VERY comfortable compared to stock height for someone who is 5'7".

Photos of final product in next post.

the extra space you encountered is because you don't have the exhaust bracket for the stock midpipe on there

See above post for install photos and description of install problems.
You can see how my exhaust has a "two-tone" effect from the heat it generates.

Maybe on the lower mounting bolts. That was not the main issue.

The extra space was on the TOP main mounting hex bolt. There is no bracket on this bolt and when I left the lower bolts completely off and installed just the main hex bolt it wold not get tight because of the play between the bracket and stepped spacer.

somethings not right in the parts then. no way you should have to push the rearset out like that. it changes the load it can carry due to the bolt length IMO
