... sorry that should be Hel.  [evil]

Brake lines arrived today so I can complete my upgrade to 320mm rotors and bigger calipers.

Its going to be a big job as I am planning on changing the fork oil and new springs as well. it might have to wait until the Christmas holidays.

i'm doing similar, adding a rotor and caliper. obviously need new lines :P but do i need a new reservoir? or will the stocky have enough juice for two?

ducatiz

yes, you should upgrade the master if you're going from 1 caliper to 2.

Assuming the second hose length is identical and you don't change the master (piston size remains same) you'll have to move that piston TWICE as far to get your calipers to squeeze as tight as the single.

there are some good master/slave piston calculators floating around on the 'net.  you can probably just use the same style master off a 2-caliper bike.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

be careful you don't send yourself over the handle bars with all that extra stopping power techno.

Wouldn't be the first time Vossy. Just not on the monster.

Pics will come after Xmas when I get some garage time.

What happened Techno? Did you manage to get some garage time?  ;)

techno

Yep. All done and back together.

I put on new calipers, discs, pads and brake lines. I also changed the fork oil and seals and put in new fork springs.

I was going to do a write up but it's useless without photos. I have photos but my computer chucked a hissy fit so couldn't post them.I will work on it soon as someone might find it useful.

If you are going past the office tomorrow I will wave out the window if I hear you coming!

I managed to get my photos working again so its time to round out this thread.

Putting the discs on the wheel. Note the old disc still fitted to the other side.

Back together.

Feel is much stronger. Not that I have really had to do any hard braking since fitting
