Hello, all

I'm Todd from Ontario, Canada.  I currently own a Ducati Sport 1000 and a Kawi Ninja 250.  This was only my second year riding, but I've been loving every minute.  I'm currently looking to pick up a Monster 696 or 796.  The season is pretty much finished here until spring; The temperature will be below freezing most of the time, and they like to dump a ton of salt on the roads, so riding even on 'warmer' days is not a great idea.

Welcome [thumbsup]

Good to have another member who understand cold :-\
It's between 0 and 10 F here now (Norway)
During winter I always see some above-freezing days, but the salt [bang]

I didn't realize they used salt in Norway; I thought they just let the snow get packed down and everyone drove around with studded tires (on their cars, not on their bikes ;)).

In and around town, they use salt.
When everyone used studded tires, salt wasn't required - the studs roughed up the ice.

We're over 50% on unstudded tires now and that results in polished snow/ice. = salt.

There has always been a few guys riding all year, mostly dirt bikes, on studded tires.
Probably not the safest thing, but with a huge fun factor.

I have a cousin who rides all winter.  He says that as long as the streets are plowed, he rides to work.  I don't know what happens if there is a major snowfall while he is at work.  ;)

By contrast, someone posted on another forum that he stores his bike during the winter, and he lives in California, and says the temperature rarely drops below 55 Fahrenheit.
