;D  Ok, so I've never worn a full suit before, but have several track days booked this coming season and just ordered a suit and wondering what, if anything, most people tend to wear under their full leather suits.

thanks!

Assuming warm weather, I wear Knox' DryInside.
It's fantastic  [thumbsup]

Made of a treated cotton-like material. It wicks moisture like synthetics, but without the smell.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Under Armor compression shorts and shirt if its warm. Long johns if it isn't. This is in addition to the back protector & chest/rib protector.

UnderArmor tights and UnderArmor long sleeved shirt (and back protector, of course).  I have a coupla sets of the 'hot' ones and a set or two of the 'cold' ones.  Skin on leather or even on the suit liner isn't comfy.  Get some sort of lycra undersuit.

If it's cold, I add a windproof, heated vest, a tight T-shirt up top and sometimes some long underwear over my tights.

Either one can be supplemented with added layers for colder temps

...exactly what I had in mind  [thumbsup]

Seriously though, thanks for the responses and several of you mentioned back protectors.  I'm assuming you're talking about a back protector that's in addition to the one built into the suit?

thanks!

There are strap on back protectors and then there are back protector pads that go into the suit.  I prefer the pad in the suit...just a comfort thing for me.

As others have said....I wear Under Armour long sleeve shirt with a T Pro Chest protector and on the bottom I wear a pair of T Pro Armoured shorts.  Don't forget about good socks too! Sidi makes a good pair that wicks away moisture and go all the way up the calf.

No.  There is no need to double up on back protectors.  The question becomes how good/comfortable the back protector that comes with the suit is (if it comes with one).  Folks will sometimes chuck the built-in back protector and go with something they bought themselves.  I tossed my Vanson built-in back protector in lieu of a T-Pro.  And with my current suit--a Helimot--I used Helimot's U-shaped over-the-should back protector, which is made for Helimot suits with a speed hump.

Personally, I don't really like the back protector built into the suit.  It makes the suit harder to walk around with, and heavier when you're tramping around the pits.

What am I wearing?  How bout a coupla drinks first, then we can get this party started.

So far, no cold weather exposure as my suit is perforated and gets pretty freakin chilly down around 50-60.

60 and up is Nike dry fit (or whatever damn brand you want to buy) full tights and long sleeves.  I tried the short sleeve stuff for a while, but my suit lowers fit weird enough to where it really really yanks on my knees if I'm not wearing something slick underneath.  Plus it never hurts to keep all your body junk off of your fine leathers :)  If you're worried about long sleeves, just make sure you get the quality wicking stuff and you'll be fine.  I wear the same stuff playing outdoor, roofless, full sun street hockey.

+1 The same sort of stuff. Having a layer over your skin helps you from getting stuck to the suit

End of past season, I bought a suit (2 piece - spidi tour style).

I do wear Force-field back protector.

Tried the knee protector from forcefield instead what came with the suit, but had to take it off half way as it was so uncomfortable with the suit.  But I am paranoid without it so I will have to manage somehow.

This thread very helpful as I need to figure what to wear.  I bought for cold champion sports shirt and pants.  Seemed to help.

Most of my time on the track, I'm anticipating will be quite warm.  So, I think I'm looking for something that will certainly not add any warmth and hopefully keep me from sticking to the suit and maybe even protect my nice new leather from my nasty sweat a little bit.
