Dont want to throw a curve ball MV, when I did this run couple of years ago we stayed at Nundle in a beautiful old pub then started the Oxley at Tamworth (I am told that there is a wonderful bike museum in Tamworth) and when you get to the museum at Nabiac you will need quite a few hours to look through it, its huge and worth spending the time there.

We also rode most of the Oxley back the other way, what a blast! Definately would encourage everyone to do that road in both directions.

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......

Thanks Mmick,

I've been to the Tamworth Museum with Nick on our last ride up that way. I know there is a further part to the Oxley but I was trying to keep the k's to a reasonable level cause I'm not sure of everyone's touring legs or butt and didn't want to chuck 600+ days at people.
That's why day 2 is just 414 to gives us much time to take in the Museum at Nabiac.
There's always next time.

I'm not buying a Multi for nothing.....

Hang on, have I missed something? I thought this Bylong Valley Way was meant to be the bikers road-of-roads ... doesn't sound that way.

Matty, I had a look at your maps ... and:
- is there a reason you are going into Port Macquarie?
- there seems to be a little 'double-back' atound Nabiac ... is that to get to the museum?

Since you will be in the Port area maybe its worth sending a PM to Caz ... just as a courtesy to share the Monster love.

Might also be worth contacting the museum at Nabiac if you are likely to be there later in the day (just to make sure they don't close up early). They have lots of bikes and they are really packed in there ... if its not your thing it is easy to get bored. Of course if it is your thing you could be there for a looong time.
Believe post content at your own risk.

If you get bored, Forster/Tuncurry is not far away, head there for a swim and some seafood.

Been to both museums. nabiac is huge and very interesting if you have a wide taste in bikes. Tamworth is much smaller and has a more "modern" bikes, including a very very nice green frame (replica I think)

No real reason to head into Port, maybe for a swim if it's warm enough and not raining!
Also just to do all of the Oxley from where we join it at Walcha.
Doubling back just for Nabiac cause, why not it's a decent road.
