You beat me to it but I was going to add:

A fist full of Dollars & For a Few Dollars More

A Fistful of Dollars was a remake itself.

Animal House

The Blues Brothers

Landis fan  [thumbsup]

Also love Trading Places, Coming to America and Spies Like Us.

However, none of those would be immune to a remake.

The original was called Yojimbo.

It had a bunch of guys in it that I've never heard of and can't easily pronounce their names.

It was an Akira Kurosawa flick.

The Big Lebowski.  Without that exact cast and crew, it's a piece of shit.

Agreed.

Harlem Nights is another one that would be shitty without the exact cast.

Toshiro Mifune.  If it's a Kurosawa flick, then chances are that Mifune is in it.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

they should never touch One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Clockwork Orange or pretty much any Kubrick film

but hey...here's an idea...lets make a list of films they should remake...if for no other reason to see how they'de modernize it and waste money doing it...

like Convoy, Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, or any other film that used CB communication as a tool or integral part of the interaction betweeen charachters...

Yes, Yojimbo, remade as a western Fist Full of Dollars.  The "Remake" was remade as a gangster film called Last Man Standing.

Oh.

Well then I'd have to go with The Italian Job.

That should definitely never be remade.

You can't beat Ed Norton.
