What do you think?

The recent mid-week ride didn't make it down to Kangaroo Valley ... and it was noted that it should be re-scheduled - so how about this.

OzMonster ride
Saturday 5th February
Meeting down south, heading to the Valley for lunch.

As I am completely unfamiliar with all things south I will leave the logistics to those that know better. Also if there is a reason this won't work (destination, etc) ... let me know and we will sort things out.

Oh and just a thought ... how many use Shell fuel? We tend not to unless absolutely necessary. If this is common maybe meeting at a Shell servo is not the right idea.

Do you think it will rain that day Betty (really not a gurl)...?      ;D
Good idea this new thread btw........ [thumbsup]

mattyvas

We could meet at the Caltex before the Shell servo, it's on the same side of the road about 500 meters earlier.

The date is okay, the rain will stay away for you Brian the map is pretty simple.

J5

what caltex ? what shell ?

every south ride i have ever done has been meet at loftus oval right before the national park entrance
i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

mattyvas

Everytime we've done a group ride through the south we meet at the Shell servo on the cnr of Princes Hwy and The Boulevarde.
The Caltex I am talking about is on the Princes Hwy in on the cnr of Bates Drive. Well mostly, Bates Drive goes off to the right and the Caltex is on the left.

Betty

Well this has proven to be a popular thread [roll]

I have done some trolling and come up with the following (pinched from past posts by Goldie & Matty):

8.00am:  Meet at Caltex Kirrawee - Nr Bates Drive and Princess Hwy, Kirrawee. Fuel up.
8.30am:  Depart, via the Royal National Park.
Stop briefly at Bald Hill (Stanwell Tops) to regroup, collect any others meeting here
Fuel Stop at Albion Park Rail (for the S4Rs) and regroup - there's no easy fuel at KV from memory.
MQ Pass, past the Pie Shop, through Robertson and onto Pearsons Lane to Kangaroo Valley
12.00pm: Lunch @ Kangaroo Valley
1.30pm:  Continue South via Camberrawarra Mountain.
At then end, back up to Albion Park via "Kiama International Speedway"
Fuel up and then back north via Mt Keira and the RNP again.
4.30pm   Back into Sutherland, to go our own ways..

Mapped (I think):

Although this is not the route we took coming home last time ... that one created a few little issues [bang]

As I have no idea about things down south, can someone fix things up for me (at least one of those clever link thingies).

And maybe a list of attendees is in order ... you know the drill (try and get the phone number of at least a couple of other attendees). Of course weather dependent:

I think I should be fine for the day, I'll have to see how I fair after the trip next week.

Map linky thingy for the run

rendang

I should be OK for this one too. I guess there's a lot happening for Sydney riders at the moment and we'll get a bit more interest closer to the day.

I'm a no on this one. We have a family and friends BBQ, haven't seen some for a while.   Oh, and there will be no fuel in the leave pass tank after the Oxley shenanigans.

monstermick58

Gunna try and get to this one, and if I do I will meet up with you at Bald Hill.

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......

goldFiSh

Sorry, couldn't resist; after all you're usually the responsible one!
