Yep they tested them from HD about a year ago and I think have taken them on as a bit of a PR exercise also.....

they have been spotted here in SA too - probably the reason why they halved the motorcycle force and got rid of the beemers!

Dollar would certainly have something to do with it.
Someone (can't remember who) told me that the bikes, beemers cost as much to setup as a full pursuit car.
And I'd have to agree with ya Aunty, they do look pretty cool.

end of the day it just reinforces they are strictly revenue raising devices, I cant see the safety or police presence (other than the aforementioned pr) - or someone found an old re-run of CHiPS - although they were riding Kwakas!  [moto]
