Okay I'm asking everywhere else so I may as well ask here too.

I carry a puncture repair kit (very kindly donated by some thoughful OzMo friends)

I have not yet had to use it (jinxed it now  [roll]) but I have lent various bits out.  I have been able to replace the plugs and the CO2 canisters but not the little tube of solvent. It seems silly to buy a whole new kit for just the tube of rubber solvent.

So I figure I could just buy something from a hardware store but I'm not getting any joy here in hicksville.  Is it just rubber glue? Or does anyone know of a suitable replacement?

Thanks

FIFO

Hi Heather
you should be able to get a tube of rubber glue / the glue for puncture repairs at most bicycle shops, that's were i got the last tube. ;)

couple of things to remember

there is a couple of types of plugs

the worm rope style which are an easy push in affair

the rubber bung arrow head ones need a special tool to fit them , the first kit i bought had those bungs but no the right tool
which i found out the day i had a nail in the tyre and tried to fix it at home so i would know how to fix a flat tyre
if i was stuck somewhere

i gave up and took the kit and tyre to the bike shop where i bought the kit from and was told you need the special tool
which i replied well i bought this kit here and its no bloody good then

so since then i have done many rubber rope repairs as used to get a lot of screws in the car , that be in the tyres ;)
as i do service work so park outside peoples houses so pick up things from the gutter

as mentioned try the Local bike shop, kmart , big w , prob get it n supercheap as well , supercheap is where i got my last kit after i had run
out of worms
i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

Thanks J5.
I've got the worm rope type one with the tools included.
Looks like the pushike shop is the go.

Aren't we boycotting supercheap?  [roll]  Don't have one of them here in hicksville anyway. Or a kmart or a big w.  :'(

Heads up for anyone that may be in the market for a basic cheap Garmin with lifetime AU maps.
At $140 or so it's ridiculously cheap.

Hi. I’m Troy McClure. You may remember me from such self-help tapes as “Smoke Yourself Thin” and “Get Some Confidence, Stupid!”
NYTimes: "...highlights of his global tour include encounters with Nelson Mandela, an 800-year-old demigod and a dildo collector."
