Recently picked up a 2009 Monster 696. It has a salvage title but, I don't mind. Most of the time people modify their rides so why not start off with a project bike?

In the past I have ridden Suzuki GS 750E, Honda Interceptor 700, Kawasaki KZ550, Kawasaki Ninja 600, Kawasaki Ninja 600E and most recently 2000 Yamaha R1. Wanted a comfortable naked bike to ride. It was a toss up between the Kawasaki K1000 or the Ducati Monster. I came across the Ducati while getting some exhaust work done my truck. I like the upright riding position and the ease riding on the new Monster models (only ridden the 696 but, assuming the 796 and 1100 are similar). I still like sport race bike styling and riding but, my body doesn't handle the strain on back shoulders and wrists.

If any members in the bay area have front right side turn signal, both rear turn signals and brake lamp take offs from mods let me know. I need to get these to pass the headlight and brake light inspection before I can get my license plate.
