QuoteLooks like SOLOMONster beat me to the punch. I just found his bike posted on the "Bikes of the DMF" thread

I wouldn't call myself impartial, but I like the look of SOLOMONster's bike, if only he had the scrilla to ceramic coat those megaphones matte black...
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production.

HAHA, nice.

How much dinero do you think youll need to powder coat them?

I actually haven't looked into it much, what with finding other ways to spend money and the bike, and a bit too much of this  [drink]  Any idea what might be a fair price?  I just want to coat the megaphones, not the headers or the small reverse cones.

if you bring them the parts the whole exhaust should be >200$. make sure they do the double coat procedure. ask about coating the inside as well as that is going to give you a better performance gains than the outside.  it wont be a huuuge difference but it is a good idea while its all being done.

I was talking about ceramic coating. we did some for an 848 external coat only and I believe it was ~200$ not including removal/re-fitting.

Hank025

That was my rookie mistake, I called it Powder Coating, but deleted the thread out of embarrassment.

Has anyone tried to put a sport classic exhaust on their monster?

I'm almost sure you can. Lots of members have done it.
Search _ceramic coating_ here and you'll find out more....

What are the chances of getting it to work for an 08' S2R 1K???
08' S2R 1K   That was close  damn near lost a $400 hand cart.

Should be pretty good actually.

I'll keep you guys posted   ;)

awesome!

I really think the S2R 1K is the least supported of all the monsters in terms aftermarket parts... especially exhausts

Yeah, I think your right. There are some options, but the confusion of the S4R, S2R 1K and S2R 800 and the compatibility of the model year is really frustrating. I really like the look of the CompWerks cans and it would be great if I could get those cans in the left and right configuration. The short and stubby look resembles that of the MotoGP bikes. I know its photo chopped, but I really like the line. The way the manifold shoots up and then the pipe follows the line of the frame. Most manufactures don't do a real good job of following the line, and I have yet to see a factory pipe tucked nice and tight to the frame.

I have been looking around and cannot find a clip of the competition werkes full system on an s2r800... only s4rs...  so its not an accurate gauge of what I would get... really like the look of it though
