Yesterday at work they came around asking for volunteers to move to either michigan or ohio, to help with 2 assembly plants that are starting up 3rd shifts.  Well since our kids all live in indiana I talked it over with Mindy and we agreed to volunteer.  Well today they came back and told me that I was accepted to move to Lordstown, Ohio.  I start work up there on the 7th of July.  (yeah thats quick)  so I am sad to say that this weekend will probally be the last ride I make with the DFWM'ers.  :'(  I will be home all next week (no workie) and leave around wed or thursday of the following week to head up there and start looking for a house or apt until either my house sells or GM buys it from me. Another reason is that the full size truck market is for shit!!  Arlington assembly plant is looking at long down time and even salaried layoffs, which does me no good.  I have to work to pay the bills and to play with my duc.  I really hate to leave such a wonderful group of people, who I will never forget!!!  Mindy will be home either sunday night of Monday afternoon and I am going to discuss with her a one last BBQ at our house.  So more to come on that early next week.  Hope as many people will make it!!  Probally do a sat so we can party until who really cares! I just want to say thanks to everyone for being the kind of people you are,  THE VERY BEST!!!!     [beer]

Wow, holy shit! First Leo, then you, then Andre, then Cory... damn, hope it's not me? I know my bullshit is kinda thick but I promise I can change. Seriously, you guys don't go! :P

Sorry to lose you and Mindy (and Desmo!) but with the economy in the dumpster I can see this happening to GM and others. At least you have options even if it involves moving and it's nice to have GM to fall back on regarding the house sale. You're lucky there too. If you or Mindy need anything in the way of help don't be bashful. There is no shortage of help from this group. Keep us posted on the get together... that sounds great!

svoloch

wow!  holy crap!  what a huge bummer for us back here, man....  and it's FAST.  need to have some kind of get together quickly.  Probably at Spiral Diner, I would guess....  hmm...

HOLY SMOKES ALAN!!!!!!!  :o  :o  :-\  :'(  :(

That's bittersweet news.  You gotta do what you gotta do.

July 7th!?  That's hardly enough time for an appropriate send-off party!  Better call in the party SWAT team to come up with a plan of action!

dude, seriously.. that sucks to see you guys go.  (plus we're loosing ANOTHER west sider!)  (not to mention my ride to the October HC ride  [laugh] )

You're still making the Gonzo Hill Country trip though right?

Ah man that stinks that you have to move, but such is life. One last pool party sounds like just the ticket to send you and the family off.

You are still required to post here on the DFWM board [thumbsup]

Wow.  That is fast.
The last time I moved cross country that quick I was in the military!

It's a shame I'll miss the Sunday ride with ya'll...
unfortunately someone needs to stay in FtW. and makes sure the beer still flows at Miller (aB13pilot is able to make it 'though)

Are you making it to Ron's Saturday?
I hope to make it -but there is a box of Italian stainless spaghetti tube on it's way via FedEx -signature only...
I HAVE to wait at home for the FedEx guy... DOH!

I can't blame you for making the choice.
I've moved just as far for similar reasons (oddly enough it brought me TO here).

Either way I'll catch up to ya' before you split.

Oh yeah, best wishes with the "new" gig!

Hate to even bring that shit up but thanks for keeping the GM discount alive. I have been watching out for a 1500 crew cab pickup like I discussed with you months ago. I remember you saying to wait until mid-summer when the plants gear up for the '09s. Maybe I'll chat you up on Sunday's ride about it. Deal or not it really sucks to see you go. Gee, just when you finally get the Yellow Duc finished... and you even got a clutch cover to boot!!! [laugh]
