I normally don't click on this thread since I'm not a firearm enthusiast, not that there is anything wrong with them.

It was worth it, starting with

It was self defense.

I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

Link to Barnes Air guns - the site is spread out and disorganized but the work this guy does is unbeliveable.

First thought:  Who in their right mind would put that kind of work into an air gun?!?

Second thought:  That's awesome [thumbsup]

Anything that can put 500 grain bullets inside of 2" at 100 yards is worth looking at.  Plus the fact they are utter works of art.  I am always blown away by that guys work.

500 grain?!?!

I thought air guns shot those tiny pellets?

Generally, but it's hardly a requirement.

From teh wikipediaz: "In the 17th century, air guns, in calibers .30â€".51, were used to hunt big game deer and wild boar. These air rifles were charged using a pump to fill an air reservoir and gave velocities from 650â€"1,000 feet per second. They were also used in warfare; the most famous example is the Girandoni Air Rifle."

Also, those Barnes air guns are badass. [thumbsup]

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I used to snipe the shit out of pigeons in my backyard with my pellet rifle at my old house when they discovered the bird feeders and bird bath. They would tell all their friends and run off all the songbirds... Cardinals, etc. Then the nasty Starlings would follow in. They got so sharp/paranoid that every time I would go outside with my pellet rifle concealed at my side they would all fly off. I took to cracking open the back door, staying inside hiding behind the door so they wouldn't see me and would shoot through the crack in the door on the hinged side. All they would see was a barrel sticking out. I had a scope so I could off the ones on the backyard power lines too. It was a daily challenge but someone had to do it! [laugh]

It was. ;D Problem was when I would wound one it would always fly into my neighbors yard over their 8' fence. I couldn't get to them to finish them off! I always wondered what my neighbor thought about all these mortally wounded flying rats in his backyard. He probably thought it was a sign of the apocalypse!! [laugh] Felt bad about the bad shots but always cracked up at what the hell my neighbor was thinking was going on. And no, I am not a sadistic SOB. Just saying... :)

My step son got me to TIVO Top Shot. Just watched the second show this season last night. I think it shows on Sunday evenings. A little made for TV/reality show BS but still they actually have to shoot and hit. Some of it bores me but I can fast forward through it and get to the shooting.

I applied for season 2 but didn't get selected.  Just as well - I have a face for radio.
