I might be down for a little putting about on Sunday.  Any thoughts, Karl?
Never appeal to a man's "better nature."  He may not have one.  Invoking his self-interest gives you more leverage.  R.A. Heinlein

10 @ PJ's or 10:30 @ CAD?  [moto]

JJ

So, I put some gas..filled some air, kicked a few and had a blast riding this piece of history and my new toy around the block- For those who are wondering what the hell?!? Made in Czechoslovakia- 1972 Jawa 350 Californian, also my first bike. In bike language- 2 stroke, single carb, oil pump, 2 cylinder, points condenser, single kicker/gear lever, attached air pump, 80mph top speed, simple nostalgic gas/oil smoke machine.

Enjoy the ride tomorrow!

The black thing is the key...it is a cylinder with notches to break the contact...!

The left gear lever 1up, 3down is also the kicker when you push the shaft and pull back! You can also see a horn and a cycle air pump attached to the chassis!

Ride forever...

I think I'm going to bow out this morning....it's frikkin' snowing at my house with 15 mph winds and 37 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures.  I'm desperate for a decent ride, but not that desperate.

Have fun if you guys actually get out!

Nice ride, JJ.  I don't see the black thing (key) you're talking about in the second photo.  Is it the button to the right?  That kick starter is the stuff!  What a clean looking solution.  I'm betting that old girl will be pretty cool to ride about town.  Reckon you'll be able to bring her down to CAD one Sunday this summer?  That'd really make a splash with the vintage crowd!

I'm with you Scott...I wish I would have gone yesterday. :'(

Nice ride JJ....the key is the black elongated plastic contraption above the speedometer.
My dad's bike had the same thing

JJ

Correct Karl, no wonder it says Germany on the key! Didn't mean to spoil the surprise, but for others who may find an antique Euro bike in a barn, the key looks like this!

Found an old manual...working on carbs and air filter through tomm...Next Kleen treatment of gas tank.

Oh yeah, if all this was not enough, I finally figured how to pull the seat out and hell the antique tool box was a prize!  A wooden screw driver, old metric tools...I believe everything you need to pull apart an engine, transmission and about anything on this bike! Having fun...:) [thumbsup]
Ride forever...
