The rain has stopped. Now I just need to get ready...  Tough process in the early morning... :)

Entertaining ride today, 120 miles worth for me... ;D

Just about the same miles for me too.  Entertaining for sure but I like our own little group better. Then again it's always fun to see how some other guys ride too.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Who all made it out to that ride?  Did it get pretty silly?

Besides us there were about 10 guys or so from I Ride MC. We left Aikahi over to H3 and then off at Kam Hwy to go over to 13 Turns. The IRMC guys wanted to stop at the top of 13 and we were like "Hey we just got started why are we stopping?" So off down 13 we went with the other guys trailing. It was the collectively slowest descent we've ever done. The road was glowing with moss everywhere (did I mention that it had been raining all night and a good bit of the morning before we started the ride?) and not only was there moss there were huge piles of leaves and mud in several places.  :o  Pretty high pucker factor.

Got over to Norfolk where it was slightly better, but not by much, so we made just one pass and turned for Waimanalo and Sandy Beach.  We had a few lag and shoot moves up around Koko Crater and that is where I think the IRMC boys figured out the difference in riding styles.  [evil]

Going back into town I was certain that I was going to have to pull off and run for the shop as I haven't seen such consistently high coolant temps. Couldn't get it out of the 190's even going down the freeway but then again we weren't moving all that fast on the freeway. About 40 mph. I opted to head for Tantalus anyway and actually got the temps back to normal up there.

Off the Pali and snaked up Punchbowl to the Tantalus backdoor. That's where we, ahem, separated a bit. The road was wetter than usual for obvious reasons but still better than the windward roads.
Had a little nice congregation at the Manoa lookout. Guy in a Lambo stopped for a bit too. He gunned it leaving us and it was horrible listening to the traction control cutting in. Sounded like a stuck rev limiter. A crime against nature if you ask me. I'd turn that stuff off and let just let the car do what it wants to do.

Out to the north shore and back. Those new brakes are working real good. In fact on the second leg down Tantalus I dialed them up a couple clicks and they were so fierce that it was throwing me off, super hard to control the bike in the tight downhillers. Had to dial them back off at the gas station.

Almost got a ticket on the Pali going home but I didn't and that's another short story, really short.

All in all, fun.  Not like some of our groups last runs up T with Darkwing & Emile but still good.

Sounds like a good time.  What was up with the IRMC guys?  More show than go?

And for the record, I have no idea what you'd be talking about right there...

My bike was running hot also, thought it was the new ECU...Brandon speculated that it was the heat + humidity...

I don't really know about the more show than go part, yet, for sure. Maybe they were holding back a bit to check us out. Takes me a while to get to know folks so I wasn't real buddy buddy with them, assbite jerk that I am. I prefer to watch & listen. If we go out with them again I'll try to be more sociable.   [puke]  No, I didn't mean that.   [laugh]

Oh yea, that was some other guy that was riding with us.

A certain evening at BME, last April, comes to mind...
