I'm sure that one had much higher boost levels than they'll allow on these upcoming.

They're saying VW/Audi might jump into the fray now with these engines.
Be nice to see some more new technology develop and trickle down to the rest of us.  [thumbsup]
Assuming Bernie stops focusing on the clown factor.  [roll]

Audi running the TDI engines?  That would be very cool.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

be very interesting if it were possible to make something in that displacement actually be competitive.
Kinda doubt it as the gas engines are probably going to rev to the moon and make tons of power making it so a diesel couldn't compete unless they could work in a displacement break for them to make up some ground.

On the 2nd video, what are the 3 axis of the surface graph?

you'd be surprised what a multi-turbo tdi will do..

but you're right for the most part, they would have to make a new allowance for a diesel to compete.

I'd love to see someone make it happen as that's one of the main things I love about good racing and why I dislike Nascar, trickle down of technology that the rest of us can use. The new four cylinders won't sound as good I'm sure but hopefully some advancements will make it into the things us common folk drive in the years to come like they have already. I've never been anti little engine, just anti boring little engine.  [thumbsup]

I just love the fact that the BMW engine says MEGATRON on top  ;D

Like him or not, Bernie is a brilliant businessman. I don't think he actually wants any of these ideas to come to fruition, but since the real issues with F1 are beyond his control, he's spouting out some wildly insane concepts so the Ferrari's and McLarens who are determined to outspend any competitor, and the rules committees forming the technical regulations think twice about the status quo. I can imagine them thinking to themselves, "how are we going to introduce more parity the right way so this nutter doesn't start turning on the sprinklers?"
