Hi,

Just want to introduce myself.
My name is Johann Keyser and was born in South Africa and now living in Cary NC.
I riding Ducati motorcycles for about 25 years now and always liked the Monsters.
Currently I own the folowing:

2001 Monster 900ie Cromo
2001 Monster 900Sie
2005 S2R 800 CF (Cafe Fighter)
1990 906 Paso

I visited this forum often just to look at all the cool Monsters and decided that it is time to join and share my creative juices with the nice people on the forum.

My current project is a 999 frame with 999 front end, S2R swing arm and 900Sie air cooled motor.  Pictures will follow soon.
The yellow bike is my 800 CF (Cafe Fighter)

RAD/Radical tank? I've always been curious, as to how they mount?

Interesting. My problem with trying to cafe a monster was always the lines of the frame, but this solution seems to straighten it out nicely. HOw did you mount the rear of the tank, and how did you build the extra frame/bracing for the seat?

You need to be creative and not afraid of modifying the frame.  It is a lot of work (welding).
Tank bolts to the seat like on a 999 and then the seat is securely bolted to the frame. Two tank mountings to be welded to the frame in the front too.

Never been afraid of that, but needed some inspiration! So you hacked off the old tank mounts? If you ever have the time, would you post up some pictures of the bike without the tank and seat? Those tanks just have a big hole in the bottom, right? I would have to rig up a plate and outlet for my carb'd monster.

Awesome work, that looks really nice and has a very nice light, airy look to it.
