already been to the store and the "genius" said it would work but when we plugged it in, NOT.  Anyway, I'll pass on this toy until something that I really wants comes around.

Well I fooled around with a couple and while they are neat and all. This Dell inspirion I'm typing on works just fine.

The only thing Apple did to let me down was they really haven't supported adequately the original version of AppleTV. You still can't get netflix on it, even though it was more than double the current version's price.

An ipad looks like a great buy for a typical end-user. My dad got one and it's PERFECT for him. He can web browse, listen to music and watch movies. He doesn't need more. I should buy one for my wife.

Which iPad2 to buy?

Although it's true most people don't use it to it's full potential, I think in certain applications it could be better than a laptop. My wife and I are Apple whores. I have the 27" imac, the new macbook air, she has a macbook air, and we both have iphones. We got the first ipad on day 1 just on impulse and while cool and fun and handy on airplanes (10hr battery is an understatement) I had no problem selling it.

We bought the new one and felt very "meh" about it. Yes it's way faster and can edit video etc, but thats not the focus. So we sold it. Now that we dont have one, and even though we have pretty much everything else Apple makes (airport express, airport extreme, ipods, igotrapedbyapple stickers, etc) we find ourselves missing the ease of the ipad. She used it a lot for taking tests for medschool and practice questions for her boards and sitting on the couch watching netflix (even though there is a big screen right in front of her).

The point of my long silly response is that even though you dont NEED it, once it's integrated into your life you find it helpful, fun, and filling niches you didnt know existed....and that isnt even broaching bringing it into the workplace!
