After making several long trips on my monster last summer with all the essentials jammed in my back pack (an Ogio 'No Drag') I'd like to make packing a little easier with a saddle bag.  I'm assuming it'd just be one bag on the swing arm side of the bike, because I wouldn't want to cover up the sweet looking open wheel, and my exhaust would burn anything up on the right side anyway.

I know I have seen such bags before on monsters, I just didn't pay much attention or was too drunk to remember the details.  Anybody have any suggestions or comments on quality/value of bags out there?

most saddle bags dont work very well on the S2R because of the exahust on the right side. The 2 that i have tried to use both sloped down  and hit the wheel.

Givi sells a wire frame that allows you put the bag on the right side without having it rest to heavily on the pipes

you could also go to home depot and for $4 and a propane torch make your own very easily to accommodate the left side. I dont know anyone who makes it for the left side. ( i bought 1/4inch steel wire and will be doing this later next week)

Alternatively, you could just get a tail bag and not worry about any of this.

Kindof a cross between saddlebags and seatbags.  Looks like it should work on the S2r as it doesn't sit below the seat area.  I'm looking at something like this on my S2r... but I ditched the shotgun exhaust for one on each side.

Givi makes racks for the S2R... then you can mount any leather or textile bags. That includes a rack over the exhaust to keep the bags off. Doesn't work with a tail chop, as 2 mount points are in the ends of the frame.
