What a run. 

It's bittersweet to know they didn't have to live life without the other.  Assuming how much they loved each other, that pain would have been tremendous.

Agreed.  Would have been a fairtail ending if Aanen could have made it home to be with her.

Very sad that the WWII Vets are leaving us.   I hope they all knew during their lifetimes how grateful we were and are.

Great story! With so much crap, mischief and bad news in every headline it is refreshing to read a story like that. Simple, loving, great people living a quiet, caring life just doesn't get much coverage these days... sad, it should. He reminds me of my deceased father in law. Simple, quiet country boy from Oklahoma who landed on Normandy and made two other beach landings before it was all over. Never talked much about it. Why? God rest all of their souls. At least the two in the story are still together.

I believe the author of the story probably meant B-17s or some other era bomber. B-52s weren't around in WWII, maiden flight was in ... wait for it ... 1952!

There was a story in the Seattle papers about a couple that died together. The husband called 911 saying that he had CPR in progress on his wife.  EMS rolled up to a locked house. No one answered the door. They looked around the house and saw the couple on the floor. They broke in and found them both dead. He died during CPR.

They were 59 and 61.

What a beautiful story! When my grandpa passed away, also a WWII vet, I moved in with my grandma for a few months to help her adjust. It was heartbreaking to see somebody learning to live while dead inside. It's been 10 years now and I know that she has no idea how to live and that her intense religious devotion is the really the only thing there 

Two people finding true love and then never having to live without each other is the best kind of fairy-tale.

My Mom died in 1995 and in 2001 my Dad who was my best friend whom I loved dearly lost his life to Cancer.

I died inside that day.

I have nothing to live for , may be that's why I ride so crazy fast.

I have no soulmate , no loved ones.

Just some guards at my property and my dog.
