Rod firstly that's terrible and I'm glad you are fine if only a little shaken.
Also very happy you weren't on the way home alone and had someone there to help dust you off after your little get off.

With the luv going round here you are almost back on the road already, glad all the folks have a good collection of spare parts.

And I knew you would enjoy the storm trooper comment, excellent buy no matter what the colour.

thanks guys (pm'ed)... should be back on the road in no time!

Congratulations one and all for such an awesome turn-out. Glad you had a good time. Special mention to RobS, Craigo, Wells, J5, Rendang , Mostro and even Ducmonrob & Dockstrada (hope I didn't miss anyone).

I am a little concerned though that these rides south always tend to have a female participant 'disappearing' with a board member who is not their partner. Suzy, be careful if take Kristyn on another ride south with this lot ... which brings me to:

Thanks for a great ride, guys!  Really excellent stuff - I was a bit worried about taking a pillion on such a long one, but it worked out perfectly.

I'm sure with just a little bit of counseling, she'll be back to normal.

I was thinking similar things ... having seen the photos before your comment. Although there is one where she can be seen almost cracking a smile (well done Matty). I hope it wasn't too traumatic for her ... and how did the clip-ons go with a pillion?

This is the one worthy of the caption competition though (be mindful of the fact that I don't speak young persons text language):

"Muuumm, I thought you said this would be fun ... and you think these people are cool? When the hell can we get outta here ... these guys are weird. And those three over there keep staring at me. Plus that guy with the camera, sheesh, give it a break"

Rod sorry to hear about your little incident ... it won't make you feel any better but it is quite common (front brake no good in those situations). ALways good to have a calming influence around in those circumstances ... well played Hambo.

Sounds like you have most things sorted ... let us know if there is anything outstanding and we can have a look too.

Sorry Rod, I'm completely unable to find my old handlebars - I suspect they were chucked out when we moved house.

Luckily there are others who have also done clip-on conversions.

Sorry to hear about your little incident Rod. At least you are safe and sound. I had a look, but I got no spares that match your needs.
Hope you're back on the road soon.  Road side pee's are still going to be needed when you go on longer rides, just give the rear brake more of a workout in the gravel!  [thumbsup]

ps. I've done the gravel too and not for a pee and a wee bit faster!  >:(

'when in doubt apply throttle' - it may not save you, but it will end the suspense

Betty you crack me up, if that was not so true it would be funny [laugh]

Hey Rod as Hambo said give that brake lever what it got in reverse you have nothing to loose.
And the hand brake levers are soft as well and can be bent back into shape [thumbsup]

Btw people my front suspension shagged out on all the bumpy roads on sunday,if any one has a spare set of forks let me know
;D
