Ducati Replacement Parts ETA?

The front discs on my bike are warped and Ducati is going to do a warranty replacement. The replacement has been approved and the parts have been ordered. It has been 18 days since the parts were ordered and they still havent been recieved. The dealership has no ETA and they said they have lots of customer bikes waiting for ducati parts. Does anyone know how long the average parts replacement takes? I am ready to take my bike back and bring it back when the parts are received. Between this warranty replacement and my 7.5K maintenance, my bike is going on its 4th week in the shop.

Thanks

18 days? They ought to be there any time. It gets worse if you have an older bike and need rare electrical parts.  [bang]
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Warenty parts get ordered from Italy.
They come on a boat.
It isn't a fast boat.

Then add in the fact your approaching summer in Europe.
They like to take summer off.
And don't seem to work too hard/fast before or after vacation.

I was once told by the guy working the parts counter at the local Ducati dealer that parts typically show up in 3 weeks but it can vary anywhere from 1 to 5 weeks. He then went on to tell me Suzuki parts show up the next day. [bang]

IME, this is a dealership thing rather than a Ducati thing.  Some dealers won't order parts until they do a "stock" order, in order to save shipping costs.  Sounds like your dealer has a convenient excuse (in Ducati) to save a few bucks and piss off a bunch of customers.

Good luck.  There's a chance they won't give you your bike back, warranty claims on brakes are a safety (liability) issue.  You might work an angle on a loaner, though, depending on your relationship with the dealer.  Then again, if he won't go to bat for some expedited freight for a nearly new bike, chances are he'll shrug his shoulders and walk away.

i got the bike back from the dealer today with the warped discs. Still no ETA on the parts. On the plus side the dealer said i can schedule a time to wait for the rotors to be installed when they come in. Getting a ride isnt easiest and the dealership is almost 1 hour away. So far i have been happy with the service the dealership has provided me.

Thanks for the replies. I will try to update when the part is received.
