What do you do when you look up an old friend online and find out he's a registered sex offender?

Tell me about it!  Friday's ride to work was just a tease!

I did see this wicked cool Indian parked in the lot that's never been there before.  It was a newer model, not vintage, but nicely pared down to only the essentials.  It was all matte black with bright red rims and a custom hand tooled seat that looked to have runes on it.  On the way up the elevator I thought, "I should tell my friend Dee about that bike.  It'd be right up his alley."  He has a blacked out Sportster.  It turns out it was his bike.  Hi dad had passed just a month earlier and left it to him, that day was his first ride on it in Oregon since he had it shipped up from LA.  The seat was the logo of his dad's law enforcement group, a narcotics outfit he had been with for something like 20 years.  His dad had gotten the bike new in '02 and took it apart right away to customize it.  Over the last few years he had discussed leaving it to Dee and had done things like re-install the front fender and other bits to make it more user friendly for him here in Oregon.  It was a touching story.

What happened to the "Mother" handle?

You just might turn that into a respectable ride yet. [moto]

Roller Derby was awesome last night!  We got a raffle ticket but did not win the grand prize of a new (to you!) 1995 Buick LeSabre.  I think I'm ok with that.  Some of the bouts were a little mismatched since the rankings are from last season but it was still good action and you get to root for all the PDX teams since they were all playing against the Seattle teams.  Lots of Seattle fans showed up.

In other news, no matter how much I'd like to support all the Derby sponsors, two PBRs was my limit before I had to switch to Fat Tire.  And I'm still not feeling all that well today.  Still, a very good night out.
