Can you change the title of the thread to something indicating it's about the ride up to the races?  It's confusing for my wee brain to have two threads on the same subject.

The times we posted are our best guess.  The AFM doesn't start the races on a time schedule -- they just go in order.  Unlikely we'd go any earlier, possible it would happen later...  sorry that's so vague...

Gawd, I hate having two threads.  It make the beast with two backss with my OCD.  Joe, you're a retard.   

Practice starts at 8am.  There are 6 groups -- each gets 10-12 minutes.    With crash truck runs, the earliest practice finishes up is a little before 9:30.  Then there's the riders' meeting.  Races start--at the earliest--at about 9:45.  Each race is about 16-18 minutes of racing. There's a warm-up and cool-down lap, so they're over 20 minutes each.  With the crash struck, figure 25-30 minutes per race on average. 

Assuming no red or black flags (giant assumption), Race 4 is most likely to start between 11:00 and 11:30.  Bet on 11am and you'll be fine.  I've never seen it run any earlier than that, and rarely at that time.  But show up at 11:30 and there's a chance you'll miss it.  Then it's lunch. 

Lunch generally starts around noon or so.  There are another 9 races in the afternoon.  The afternoon races seem to run a bunch faster, i.e., more like 20 minutes for each rather than 30 minutes.  Starting around 1pm. 

I'm out for the ride, but in for the races (is this the right thread ).  Will be truckin' it with a buddy from Portland and mebbe his friend.
