scott the info i had on sunday was wrong. i apologize. after reading the article again it reads "the steering wheel on the f1 cars cost around 40,000 a piece with roughly 1.5 million tied up in research for it."  the wheel weighs 1.3 kgs. the base wheel is the same but each team has theirs setup differently electronically. ferrari spent 300 million on their two f1 cars last year. the cars weigh 1334 lbs with the driver. the fastest clocked speed was at bonneville by honda 257 mph. they go 0 to 60 in 2.0 secs, 0 to 185 in 8.9. these speeds are an avg. it will depend on the aero setup to get more correct speeds. it said there is 20 plus different controls on the wheel the driver controls. everything from fuel mixture to diff ratios to pit speed to his water. the research they do in f1 takes awhile to filter down to the everyday cars but alot can be found on your high end cars. very impressive i think. i wonder if they need a parts mngr.
