Back protectors... looking at the forcefield sub4

Hey guys... i have back protector inserts in all my jackets (either sas-tech or forcefield), but i'm thinking about getting a full out non insert one.  i leaning towards the sub4 because... well... it seems to be the best one out there and skimping on something like back armor just doesn't seem that smart.

the main issues i've heard about it is that it's a bit thicker than most... anyone have any fhe with it?  does it get hotter than a thinner one like the other forcefield back protectors?  any other issues etc?

thanks for any info on this :D

I've got one of their L1s and it's decently thick - the Sub4 is thicker. But I've got no problem with the L1 under my 1pic. It get's a little odd with the jacket and pants, but that's mostly due to the natural tendency (of any back protector) to work it's way out of the pants when you lean into a riding position.

As far as temp - I don't think it's thickness really makes much difference at the end of the day. Might be a bit warmer than a jacket insert, but I'd think that's more due to a larger foot print than the thickness.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Have you looked at the BMW level 2 . I have been using one for about 5 years now , had 2 horrific crashes, broke 15 ribs in the 2 crashes plus a bunch of other bad stuff ...but no Back injury.

I don't even notice it when riding. Pretty much covers my whole back. Fits down in to my leather Pants and my leather Jackets zip over top of it. It never pops out while riding.

It is a little warm , but I would imagine they all are fitting snug against your back with a 2 " wide Velcro belt around your waist and a male / female insert closure at neck level on an elastic strap with 2 pads for your Collar bones.

I dont know about the other brand name but do have two forcefield back protectors ( one an insert and the other well not an insert ).  I used to use Icon and notice a huge difference.  I love it and during a recent low side and land on shoulder and back, well I didn't feel anything on the back.  Saving up to buy the under-armour now.  I also use the knee armour from forcefield.

Anyone own or have tried the Dainese N-Frame Back Protector?  I couldn't find anything on how much force (kN) it transfers besides that its CE Level 2.
