Got an email from Revzilla that mentioned 2011 line of helmets from Kali - which I wasn't aware of before. Popped over, watched their little run down video and now I'm curious.

Anyone got and experience with this brand?
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

is that the brand that forsages the end of the world, in a frenzied dance, plus you get a coupon for 4 pairs of gloves?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Yeah... I rather questioned their brand name...

Yeah... I rather questioned their brand name...

looks interesting, but it's not snell rated so that might be an issue for some people.  gotta wait for a uk mag to do a impact test on it though... i wonder if the new tech really makes any diff.

i wish helmet manufacturers were required by law to state how many kn's of force is transmitted during an impact, not just knowing that they hit a lowest common denominator.  sort of like crash safety ratings and dpt of health sanitary ratings.  i'd def feel better paying more for a helmet that had the best impact rating on the market.

after all the recent developments regarding Snell, I doubt I am going to buy another Snell rated helmet.  I use an XL which means I'm off their (snell) radar.

one thing i noticed in the vid... i have a funny feeling those helmets arent going to flow air that well.  when they show the inner eps core, there are no channels at all to flow air... just looks like some holes where intakes are and that's it.  might be the drawback to their way of implementing the safety features.

and yeah, snell's got some controversy... but dont some tracks require the helmet to be snell cert'ed?  not sure about that, but it's something i've always heard.

Snell addressed that controversy when they changed the standard in 2010.  That said, I would have no problem buying a helmet that is not Snell rated but is ECE or BCI rated.  Just DOT?  Not on my head.
