Which Exhaust for a S4RS?

OK, I know this topic has had some discussion in the past, however it's time to take advantage of the dollar rate, and looking to bring in a new exhaust for the S4RS.

The way I see it, there are 4-5 options to be considered:

#1 Termi Full System, New ECU, Open Air box - Extra Horses, Good Sound - I guess.. Costly, Has to be re-tuned, Looks OK

#2 Arrow Full System (Carbon or Ti) - Looks OK - I prefer Termi or Zard's, Haven't heard the sound yet, Cheapest System

#3 Zard Full System (Carbon) - Like the different looks, Haven't heard the sound yet, Cost - Mid range - Currently leaning towards this option

#4 Quad D Ex-Box - Still appears to have a large Udder, no removable dB killers

#5 Separate Mid Pipes, and Termi Slip-on's - Cheaper Alternative to Full System - Can this be done??

Would be good to get some views on any of these options, or any other options that I have missed  [moto]

It has been discussed plenty of times before  ;D
Termi is the answer!
'08 S4RS Tri, '02 VOR En450, MV Agusta F4 Tracky, Ducati 900 Darmah.

Hi Carbon,

So many options, so I just cored mine instead... I will replace it with Termi's someday when I get around to it. But it sounds fine for now.

Have a chat to Matty v his 2-1 setup is pretty sick  [thumbsup]

Mattys system is Akroprovic Full Titanium......two into one........i would say at a guess that it would be the most expensive option......but definately worth a look if price doesn't worry you....

Akroprovic System

Remus System......I do like these as it looks balanced. ie.  two cans but either side....similar bike to mine too...

Decisions, decisions......... [thumbsup]

Personally I'm not a fan of Termi's, they do sound good but for me they are very cliche when it comes to exhausts.
There are lots of options out there, if mine didn't come with the Akro system I would have gone for the Arrows system.
Andy's bike sounds the dux guts to me, but then a 2V bike does sounds different to a 4V bike.

My system is expensive to buy but then it's TI and a full 70mm at some sections.

I would not suggest option 5. Thats what i did and had a lot of problems. I think its better spending a few extra $ and get it done right, first time.

What problems have you experienced with that option? Just wondering as I am getting to the point of doing something with my cat convertor....

fitment issues, mufflers moving closer to the back wheel. generally not as good exhaust flow, back firing etc etc :)

Eh, that doesn't sound very good at all.

Can anyone else comment here, as i was honestly going to order a cat eliminator this week....

I know on my old bike, which had it removed, i used to get a lot of popping and crackling but i actually liked it. Back firing is a different think though

Hadn't thought of the AK system, Looks Good, Whats the sound like? Does the ECU need a new map? or runs OK with Standard
Matty, does yours have an open Airbox, or any ECU work? Is this the same system

Still no mention by anyone about "Zards", anyone heard them on a S4rs?

The Remus look good as well, I do like the 2V high mount look...

It's mainly about sound for me, not exactly searching for more horses, still got a paddock of them to explore as it stands...

I love the full termi system for the S4Rs, the akropovic stuff is the finest quality gear i've seen exhaust wise, bar none. my husky has an akro on it and for an enduro to have a nicer fitting, better quality system than my GENUINE WSB SPAGHETTI system on my 888, well, it's a travesty frankly. my S4R has the arrow and it's too loud, really, really loud, even with plugs, i've been booted from 2 track days with 105db readings which sucks. I'm building a KTM superduke and akropovic supply both genuine "R" exhausts and "hard part" stuff and i've bought one for it and again, it's superb quality. If others who have fitted the full termi system say it fits well, i'd probably go with that as it's a full kit with an ecu to suit, if it doesn't fit well, (likely if all the termi stuff i've bought is any indication) i'd cough up for an akropovic.

Mine came with the system on it, it had the open air box already done and a DP ECU.
It is a very nice looking and sounding system but then 4V bikes don't really sound great unti they are doing 6 thou or above!

I'd never swap my Akro system. I have heard the Zards which sounds good too, but I know they sit a little lope sided on the bike.

Big T had the Zards on his S4Rt with the DP ECU (cheaper options now than there used to be) and he raved about them - I'm sure he'd get back to you if you PM'd him. The look was one of the things that inspired me with my exhaust (not that they look anything alike).

Sound is such a tricky thing as it is completely subjective. Most people don't like the sound of my pipes ... and that is part of the reason that I love them. You tend to remember the pipes that you like the sound of personally and probably the reason I can't remember the distinctive sounds of certain 4v systems.

But coming through a rock cutting with Andy & Jukie surrounding me ... now that is some nice sound.
