Oh man...the giant ball of snot that came from Spidey's larva was AMAZING!  And the racing wasn't half bad either.  (Actually, it was freakin' fantastic.   [bow_down]

It was great meeting "The Dude" at long last.   She brought us some epic beer.

This was the write-up he posted on BARF after a few dainty sips of champagne.   [cheeky]  He's not a man of many words.

Open Superbike in the morning I rode tight.  Really tired myself out.  Turned in 1:44.5 as a best lap -- not fast enough.

Twins.  I chilled out a bit before the race and re-gathered myself.  I started from the 2nd row.  Not a GREAT launch, but okay.  ~7th into turn 1, accidentally juiced the gas a little when I wanted to break headed toward turn 3, so I picked up a position there.  Then stuck in 6th until 2nd lap turn 6.  I passed Blackburn, Bud, and Neil O'Reilly all between T6 and T7 (thanks for getting the extra motor, Desmoto Sport!).  Then I went after Gogo, who already had a pretty big gap.  I reeled him in over the next 4 laps -- I could feel him coming back to me.  I was on his rear wheel going into T1 by the 6th lap.  I thought about trying a hard pass on him in a couple spots, but knew I had the motor and drive, so I waited until the straight between T6 and T7.  I got him early, so I was pretty confident he wouldn't have a chance to come back at me.  I put in my fastest lap of the weekend on the following lap and created a break.  I was getting pit signals he was still in the hunt, so I pushed on the last lap and turned in another good one to finish 2nd, with a best lap of 1:42.5.  That's 0.8 better than my previous best, so a big step forward for me.  :)

Formula Pacific.  Me and Mat Orange had talked before the race.  We said we wanted to work together to get up with the fast guys.  Halfway through the first lap, Mat and I were trailing GoGo.  Unfortunately for us, Mat wasn't able to get around him, so I passed Mat on the brakes going into 7, then lined up GoGo for T6->T7 on the following lap.  Mat came along, but I wasn't able to go any faster and he wasn't able to get around me (although, apparently, he was ALL over me).  I thought I could hear him in a couple turns...  it turns out it was him -- just on me like white on rice.  I was able to cross the line in front of him.

Looking forward to AFM / THill in a month.  In the meantime, I'll be doing a novice school at THill tomorrow and Tuesday, a race at WSMC next weekend, a trackday at THill on Sunday the 30th, a school on the 31st and June 1....  So no shortage of seat time and setup opportunities.  Getting ready to ROCK IT!   [thumbsup]
