Going to the movies is one of my all time favorite things to do.  I love being there and seeing movies and being a part of an experience with a large group of people.

However, I have pretty much stopped going to them.  Not because of prices or anything to do with the quality of the movies but because;

PEOPLE WON'T SHUT THE make the beast with two backs UP!!!!!!!!

I'm so sick of having to hear people talking, talking on their phone, and generally just being ignorant assholes who obviously don't give a shit about other people's feelings. You can't even get the theatres to kick people out anymore, they just offer a rain check.  I don't want a rain check I want to stop hearing some make the beast with two backswad talking like their at a concert.

Sorry for the rant but something I love to do has been ruined by others and it pisses me off to no end. Whatever happened to decency and manners.  They tell you to shut up before the movie starts and people just talk right through the whole damn thing.  Happens just about every time we go now days.  Makes me want to take a stun gun to someone's larynx.

Talkers are annoying but my peeve are chair kickers and douches that put their feet up.
ErkZ NOT in SLO w/ his '95 m900!

Last movie we went to, there as a family with little kids in the row behind us, there was an annoying (albeit cute) little girl who kept wanting to say "Hi" to us...I was able to somewhat ignore her until I felt this little 3 year olds hand flop into my hair...

That peeved me a bit. I agree though - chair kickers really hack me off.

Rumored Plot:

After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They're not the only ones who want blood. Tool’s beautiful young and wild daughter Fiona embarks on her own revenge mission, complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity.

In theaters: August 17, 2012

Meh.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the first Expendables (especially considering the cast).
I tend to regard most of humanity as little more than walking talking dilated sphincters. - Rat

?? - do you mean that you were expecting it to be good considering the cast and it wasn't or you expected it to be bad because of the cast??

Speedbag

I was expecting a totally kickass story considering who they pulled together.

Didn't happen. It was a huge non-event for me.  :P

That was one movie where all I wanted out of it was to see those guys together. Beyond that I had no expectations. As a result - I loved the action, and payed little attention to much else.

Fantastic brainless quality though!

I loved seeing Dolph and Jet fight!!

duccarlos

I have not seen the first, but I would have gone in there with the same attitude I go to see all the Fast/Furious movies. You'll never be disappointed when you have very low expectations.

Anyone see Thor?

In movie related news:

-Expendables 2: Stallone says that the publicly spreading synopsis for Expendables 2 is incorrect but that the correct one will be revealed shortly.

-The Avengers: Looks like we'll see plenty of SHIELD in the upcoming movie. Sources say that along with the famous headquarters airship known as the "Helicarrier", S.H.I.E.L.D. agents will be piloting a more tactical aircraft; though it is unknown whether it will be The Avengers' Quinjet or the yellow/red S.H.I.E.L.D. "Flying Car".

Cast members include: Robert Downey, Jr. returning as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, and last but not least - Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

It's either going to be epically good or epically bad. One thing's for sure; it'll bring a pretty penny at the box office.

-Monsters Inc. 2 aka Monster's University: Disney/Pixar released this synopsis about the upcoming sequel:

“Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.”

TV Related:

-Spartacus Season 2 is now filming and according to returning actors, will be great but Andy Whitfield left some big shoes to be filled as Spartacus.

-Wonder Woman is on the chopping block at NBC. According to initial reviews of the pilot, no one at NBC was really impressed.

-Sons of Anarchy is getting a new addition: Danny Trejo. Trejo will be playing Romero “Romeo” Parada, a charismatic and (duh) dangerous former commando for the Mexican military who becomes a new associate of the Sons.

-Smallville: for anyone who follows this series, the series finale will be on the CW network May 13th.

Synopsis: The story of Clark Kent (Tom Welling) culminates in this epic two-hour series finale as Clark takes the last step to becoming the Man of Steel. With surprise guest appearances, nods to the first few seasons of the series and Michael Rosenbaum’s return as Lex Luthor, this final episode wraps up a decade-long story following one’s man’s journey to becoming the world’s greatest superhero.
