Should names/screen names/bikes list be up top?

I asked our fearless admin the other day why the “Names and what your mother calls you” thread seen here:

http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=892.0

…was not pinned as a sticky to the top of our DFW forum. It was explained to me that we don’t want to clutter it up with a lots of useless threads. I can understand this stance. However, I personally used (and still use) this thread ALL the time to learn people’s names and what bikes they have. It’s an indispensable tool for me as a newish member.

I want to see everyone else’s take on the subject. And I brought logic along with me.

** The thread I’m rallying for has been viewed 614 times.

That’s the ninth most popularly viewed thread in our section. Seven of the higher ranked threads have to do with large events and trips - which, of course, we have a calendar for.

**This thread has been viewed more times than ANY of the ones we have up top.

Currently pinned up top:
**A calendar with only 7 posts and 195 views.
**A “photo thread” with 18 posts and 213 views.
**A birthday calendar with a respectable 64 posts and 518 views.

In conclusion, I ask you what you typically want to know about a club that you’re interested in. My votes would be for:
Who is in it?
Where can I meet/find them?
What kind of bikes do they have?

If I'm right, then why do we banish the easiest to read list of members/bikes/and screen names to whatever page it falls to. I’ll shuttup now, what do you all think?

Who is this "Ideapimp" anyway?  [cheeky]

I do better with putting names to faces rather than using this forum. If we keep the name thread inconspicuous, people will have to show up to rides and meets.  [thumbsup]  [moto]
