Yes, "fundatory" events and being "voluntold" for activities have always part of the military culture.

A few of the many reasons I am getting the hell out.   [thumbsup]
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Yes, "fundatory" events and being "voluntold" for activities have always part of the military culture. Luckily I enjoy what I do.

It's lucky that you do enjoy it and if "they" know you enjoy it then very likely you will go far. That is, far up but maybe also far away too.   [laugh]
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Do you think that the agency won't have it's own version of fundatory? They might make it a little more palatable, that's all.

Let's put it this way: Last Wednesday, at my new office, the branch chief walked in at three and said "alright, no one's got anything hot going on.  Open tab on me at the bar".  That's the kind of fundatory I can enjoy.

He's not burning gas faster than you. I bet more on the fact that he didn't have as much gas as he thought he did at the start of the ride. Jeff was kinda checking out his tank at the top of 13 turns. Should have said something right there and we would have ducked into a gas station just past Castle Hospital. Then no drama. But what would a ride be without some drama?   [laugh]

I had plenty of gas, although the problem was I was basically running 90% on one cylinder. I opened up my carbs this morning and the right side (front cylinder) was full of a white gooey substance.

so 30min later i had them cleared out and its running like a raped ape!  [thumbsup]

So now you are opening up a can of worms.  Your engine is air cooled. So where does a white, gooey substance come from and what can that substance possibly be? ? ?  I mean really.  Plus running 90% on one cylinder and, assuming, 100% on the other cylinder, wouldn't slow anyone down much. Been there, done that.

Sorry. I've got limited weekends only. My work week is M-F 0600 to 1800+, every day. Sunday is my good day and not every Sunday at that.  >:(

Unfortunately, I am only free on Sunday and some Saturdays...but typically try to spend Saturday with Teresa.  Luckily, I ride into work almost everyday, to get my fix...and better parking.

Speaking of fundatory occasions...I'll be the Officer of the Day at Camp Smith, this Saturday, until Sunday AM.  I'd like to ride out on Sunday, but that will depend on the amount of sleep I get, what time I get relieved and of course....this crazy weather!

Cheers,   [drink]

I was down there until about 9ish, I left after the group (10-15 squids) showed up and started making a bunch of racket. Tantalus was a nice combo of dry/damp, relatively clean in the corners. 13 turns was a total mess, debris everywhere, mud, gravel, etc. Some guy in a yellow late model 'Vette wanted to get frisky on the Pali, but it was real wet on the windward side. Maybe I'll see you guys next week?
Did I ever tell you the story about the Zen master and the little boy?
