What a fantastic day's ride!

Jason, it was a pleasure to meet you.  I'm usually a pretty quick judge of people, skills, and relationships.  I think you'll fit in great with our group.  You rode well and, more importantly, rode within your skill set.  That's the most important thing for anyone to do in my book!  I hope to ride with you again soon.

DM, we didn't race with anybody.  Duh.  I did follow the Carrera for a while and greatly enjoyed the pace until we stumbled across the white Chevrolet low rider.  What a douche bag that guy was.  He intentionally cruised between 25 and 40 miles per hour when he knew nobody could pass him, then had the audacity to flip us (and the Porsches) off when we passed him.  That guy needs an attitude adjustment!

Karl, Ford, Ed, JJ, Jim, and Adam, it was great to get to ride with all of you again.  Now I remember why I count myself lucky to be part of this group.  You guys are the best.

To me, the high point of the day was the road into Mora.  Clean.  Little traffic.  Obscene pace with Ed and JJ.  What else could a rider ask for?

If you missed this ride, you missed a good one!

That was an awesome long ride and a good showing!  [clap] Several adventures- Porsche stubborness, low rider flip, great green chilli slab bison burger at Five Star outside Taos & canyon carving, good friends...couldnt be a better day!

BTW I pulled around the Porsches a bit harder than usual to take both in one sweep...dont ask me how fast...the new Dainese ripped open and I was almost on a take off...the speed was right and the pseudo flaps may even work...freaky!!!

Ride forever...

I saw you guys in SF I think my bud and I were on Saint Francis. His trotle broke on an old FLH that we have been putting together. We went into SF to get a part for it. We went up to Dixon, Penasco, Mora, BLack Lake Angel Fire, Eagles Nest, Red River and down the canyon. I took his Hyabusa out for a stretch. I saw one of you on an old 900 ss in the lead in SF? That is georgeous. I am almost done with my r90 cafe racer laying clear coat this weekend I hope. Then I will get my Wide Glide runnning and then the 900ssie. I hope to ride with you soon. What is CAD?

Thanks for the reminder..  Sounds like an epic day.  Mine is in one piece and running.. has been 120 miles of back and forth to work commuting so far.  Gotta go back and double check all of my work and safety things before I really get hard n dirty with it.  Hopefully I'll catch you all on the next epic ride!

CAD is Coffee at Dawn, David.  It's a little cafe over in Cedar Crest.  To find CAD take I-40 east from Albuquerque and take the Tijeras exit.  Get on 14 (Turquoise Trail) north and go about five miles.  When you enter the village of Cedar Crest you'll see Coffee at Dawn on your left.  It's a local hangout for motorcyclists, especially on weekend mornings.

We didn't have any SS's on the ride this weekend, David, but I led the way through Santa Fe on my MH900e.  Maybe that's what you saw.  I do remember seeing a couple of folks fiddling with an HD, but it looked like things were well attended to, so we didn't stop.

Holler if you need help with the SSie, and I sure hope you'll make a ride soon.  Ducati optional.   ;D

Man, sounds like I missed an epic day! Next time I'll need to be there.

I am back among the land of the living after a long stint at work. I will definitely ride the crest on Friday in the morning if anyone is interested.  Otherwise if anyone else is riding in the next three days drop a line here.

I'm gonna do my best to come out and play sunday morning.  Make an early AM crest run and the requisite CAD stop.  My Stainless pipe showed up so I can start taking it BACK apart and get some exhaust pipes fabbed up.  Giggety.   [evil]
