Not trying to give a plug here but I got an SMS from Fraser's saying that they're having a stocktake sale on the 17th to the 20th of June, something about 75% discounts. Not having gone to one of these before is it the usual fire sale stuff like sizes nobody wants, returns etc and only one item at 75% the rest at 10% or something pointless? I'm trying to work out if its going to be worth it coming 55k into Melbourne CBD on a weekend for it.

Dunno. the previous warehouse sale they had was mental. There was genuinely cheap good stuff (as worn by about half NSW the ozmonsters on any given weekend). Some of their other sales have rubbish though. YMMV

I actually received two SMS's.  One for their shop in Elizabeth Street and one for an address in Broadmeadows (137 Lamberton Road).  Presume they have a warehouse there as well.

Yeah but here we are talking about Melb. Ducati that never carry much stock anyway.  I wouldn't be making any special plans to attend. But I do live 300kms away and have an all weekend date with a mountain bike in the Otways.

If I was you Sundog and you have somethings that you need, give them a call and see if they've got them. I won a $200 voucher 3 years ago that I never got to spend cos they never had anything I wanted. (Hmn it doesn't have an expiry date on it though!!)

As Craigo said, the Sydney warehouse sale was rather bonkers ... I didn't actually expect them to have 'another' warehouse - those not in Sydney were complaining about how lucky we were to have the opportunity to buy stuff on the cheap so we can spend our weekends fulfilling stereotypes.

We travelled down (maybe 70kms or so) for the social aspect as it became a de-facto OzMo event ... but ended up spending a fair bit of fundage. But I am one of those wankers that has a fair bit of Ducati branded stuff [laugh]

If Sydney is any guide they had a broad spread of stuff (some not even Ducati :o) ... shirts, shoes, pants, leathers, boots, gloves, etc, etc ... pretty much everything. Availability obviously varied but from what I saw and heard they did re-stock on occasion throughout the weekend - timing was the key.

There seems to have been a reasonable spread of sizes, etc. - reflective of what they would normally stock and sell methinks.

Of course it could all be very different in Melbourne.

I'm pretty sure the Broadmeadow location is Fraser's Newcastle store (137 Lambton Road), not a warehouse.  I believe it was the 'original' store but is nowhere near as big as the Sydney one.

Hmm ... not the same thing really.

Being on Frasers email list, i was sent the sale details...... "up to" 70% off on selected items......but 20% off everything else.
Nothing like the relocation sale.........more like an end of financial year clearout of old stock.   Speaking of which......i could dam near put on a Ducati apparel garage sale myself......... ;D
Worth sticking ones head in the door though, Frasers i mean    [roll].........if you like, i can be the guinea pig who goes down the first day , then give a detailed running report, no charge of course....... [thumbsup]
But  "NO " to Rob & des,.........i am not going to save you the trip by taking your shopping list with me again.....If you like, i can draw you a map, as soon as you are off Pittwater rd......like ducks out of water .... [roll]

OK OK..........  i even did this map for you (computer illiterate over there)      [cheeky]  [laugh]  [thumbsup]

Yep - my mistake.

As it turns out I have to go to work on Friday anyway so I will be calling in too Ducati City around opening time to see what's what. I don't hold high expectations but will report back if there is any interesting bargains going.

I was in there the other day actually to get my service logbook updated and there was a Diavel in the service area that I had a close look at, meh, not impressed. [thumbsdown]

So Brian - are you going to check out the Melbourne one for us too?  Just remember I need plenty of notice as I will be 300kms away from the shop. (and most likely out of mobile range)  [thumbsup]

I went to Ducati City in Melbourbe CBD today to check out the sale. Lots of boots of varying sizes going out with some good prices, from wet weather/winter boots to knee high racing. Lots of helmets of various sizes, some dark blue with some black and others gun-metal, all with stenciling.

A couple of CF parts, for a Monster fuel tank the filler surround and ignition tunnel piece and a CF Monster hugger, not sure of the year they fit.

Clothes weren't that flash with the 75% dicount range though (as expected), small sizes for women mostly or kids. Although I still got 25% of current season stock after haggling, a branded Meccanica hoody and a Ducatiana Corsa t-shirt for a little over $110 (total).

It's pretty much 25-25% of everything as a minimum, so if you wanted bling for your ride this weekend might be the day to get it. Shows how much the regular markup is anyway.

I took the opportunity to duck down to Frasers at Homebush this afternoon just to have a look. Most of the stuff seemed to be around the 20% off mark.
They had a heap of Termi boxes for older models on the tables. If you were after some, better call ahead and see if they have what you're after.

My take on it all? Unless you really need something new, its not really worth the bother.
You could probably get much the same price over the net any day of the week, and most likely better.
