Hey guys,

Just picked up my first Duc, the new M659. Whilst it's early days, I am already thinking about future mods - I was bitten by the mod bug years ago with my cars.

From what I have read around the place, it seems like Termi's are the choice of exhaust for Ducatis and Monsters in particular. However, I'm a bit confused about what can and can't be done - is there a straight slip-on Termi exhaust available or will I need to get the whole kit, ie air filter and ECU upgrade? Also, where do most of you get the Termi's? I've googled it and there doesn't seem to be a dedicated Australian distributor?

If it does turn out that an ECU upgrade will be essential, I'm assuming I will have to wait until there is one available for the M659 and that I can't use the M696 one?

Cheers

Wells

RE Exhaust Options for 659, I'm not sure what's out there though I'd hazard a guess that anything that bolts onto a  696 should be okay on a 659 (NOT internal components, ECUs, etc).

Termi and Ducati are somewhat synonymous... but they certainly wouldn't be the only option..
Leo Vince, Marving, Arrow, Yadda Yadda all have systems for newer models.

Most will offer slip-ons.. some will have full systems.

If you're putting on slips ons... you *may* want a new ECU
If you're putting on a full system.. you'll *more than likely* want a new ECU
If you're putting on a new intake system.. you *will* want a new ECU

There are some Aus distributors of different bits and pieces... I would recommend you to foster a good relationship with a local Ducati Specialist (see Sticky on OzMo forum) and see from there.
Otherwise, sourcing from Dealer (  [puke] ) or O/S may be an option.

My experience... my mechanic found me a set of termi slip-ons.. I took them home and put them on. He tuned the bike. Everyone was happy... he also found me an open air box.. I put it on, realised I need a performance ECU to allow more flexibility in tuning and then took it back off.

Hi. I’m Troy McClure. You may remember me from such self-help tapes as “Smoke Yourself Thin” and “Get Some Confidence, Stupid!”
NYTimes: "...highlights of his global tour include encounters with Nelson Mandela, an 800-year-old demigod and a dildo collector."

Not sure if Ducati and/or Termignoni will get around to releasing a Termi slipon can and ECU set for M659.  Anything you do to your 659 which adds to its performance.... undermines its LAMS status.  Which you may or may not care about  ;).

But as has already been said, any cans which fit M696 are gonna also fit M659.
