Help me find a jacket

Just bought '99 M900 after a 4 year motorcycle hiatus.  I ordered a helmet but still need a jacket.  I used to have an Alpinestars Spinner that I loved.  It was fairly basic, a couple stripes down the sleeves and somewhat subdued logos.  A bit of perf, but also chest and back vents.  Removable liner.  I liked it a lot, but they don't make it anymore and don't have a comparable product in the line anymore.

I want something that's not tacky (ie, no huge obnoxious logos, black with some color accents only, no fake abs looking panels or BS, no external ugly armor), works for 3 seasons in term of temperature, has internal armor, and is an overall high quality jacket.  To give you a sense of what I'm talking about, I've mostly been looking at the plainer styled Alpinestars and Dainese offerings.  Anything else out there I should look at?

check out the rev'it line too... not sure if you want textile or leather, but they're on par with a*'s and dainese in terms of qual imo.  actually might be a bit better in terms of textile gear.

Definitely looking only at leather.  The rev it stuff does look alright, but I can't get past how cheesy their name is.  I could never wear something that says "Rev' it!" on it.

+1 on the rev'it leathers. I have a CR and like it a lot. The leather is soft and flexes easily.
I also just picked up the Revit AIR jacket, and that has been awesome for the warmer weather.

IMHO Dainese  [evil] is the best gear you can get.  [thumbsup] Worth every penny. If the price disuades you keep your eyes on ebay, Craigslist and the Classifieds Gear section here and you can find a great deal on a Dainese jacket. Otherwise just buy one new online at Revzilla and remember that quality safety gear is worth spending the money on. Good Luck!

I'm eying up the Dainese SF right now.  Pricey for sure, but I like the style and it has all the features I want.  I figure it's a small amount compared to the bike.  Having gear you like makes you want to wear it.

I like Dainese... top quality, fits me well, and looks great. Rev'it makes incredible gear also. Regarding the name... no offense but IMO only someone who doesn't know anything about gear would not buy it because of the name. Those in the know would respect you for wearing Rev'it. If someone says something negative about the gear because of the name they're probably a noob.

Rev'it is a high end quality brand and any of there offerings would be a great choice. I wear Dainese gear and everything is tasteful and the pics of the stuff does not do it justice. Try www.Revzilla.com like others have posted, very good prices and return policy.

i actually like motorcycle superstore's return policy better as you can return for a full refund where you cant at revzilla... that being said, i buy more stuff from revzilla because they are so close to me it's basically next day for me on all products.  also, the revzilla cash on larger purchases is nice... its basically like getting a free visor when you get a jacket.

also, yeah, rev'it is def solid.  i made the choice btwn the rev'it tarmac and the dainese alien... and chose the tarmac because both fit perfectly, but the tarmac seemed to offer more features for ~100 less.

I don't care what other people think, but I care about what I think.  I wouldn't think less of someone else wearing their stuff, it's just not for me.  I like clean, classy, understated.  Their choice of name is anything but.  I'm probably going to end up with Dainese, just seeing if there's anything else out there.

... says member with name Destructobot??

Agree on the understated, but I wouldn't let the name disuade me.

Hahaha, I've been using that name on guitar forums since I was 17.  I ended up buying a Dainese Cage.

I have two Dianese Jackets a Bora Leather and Textile Racing both are top notch and the back armor is removable and goes in either jacket. If you ask me you cant do better than Dainese for quality, safety and style. I went all Dainese i.e. boots, pants etc. except for my gloves. And I'm wondering if that was a mistake.
