this week we work late.

when we work late people bring in snacks.
we work really late and in order to keep from losing it we wander around and talk. as we talk we eat the tasty treats people bring in.

we also get fed. this week we are doing well.

mon - hoagies
tues - mexican
weds - cheesesteaks, cheese fries, tastycakes
thurs - italian from magianno's

i started the week at 209ish.
i believe i will lose quite a bit of ground for my next weigh in.  [laugh]

i'm looking at it this way though. if i gain weight back then i can lose it and feel good about myself all over again!

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

The after-effects of messican food is not considered "food dumping", well it kinda is, but more likely hyper efficient processing.

I just rode around on the 996 in full leathers in 95* heat for a few hours.  I know I was sweating.  I also walked the stairs at Red Rocks Amphitheater in my leathers (sans jacket, however).

Made up a 15.5 lb brisket, 5 lbs of bbq chicken, brats, burgers, shrimp, German potato salad, baking powder biscuits with fresh strawberries out of the garden, etc.  Just got done cutting up two logs with the crosscut as pennance.  Think I'm going to come unfed.... :-X    Sort of exceeded my 1500 calorie diet today.

Reading back, I'm pretty convinced that most of what you've gained back is muscle. Logs are a lot of dead weight.

I understand that, because of your diabetes, you're very concerned about your calorie intake and how it affects your lifestyle.

My old man (who is a health care professional and whose mother died of complications from diabetes) always said that there are two types of diabetics.

1) Those who treat it with a combination of diet, exercise, and insulin.

And....

2) Those who treat it with beer and tacos.

You don't strike me as a #2.

Over the last 6 years you've dropped a bunch of weight due to a drastic lifestyle change.

Recently you've been hewing logs like it's cool and you've gained some back.

How do you feel? How do your clothes fit?

I think that you should absolutely find a doc who wants to know what the make the beast with two backs is going on with you as much as you do. At the very least, a hormone panel would be a good start.

My personal suspicion is that s/he's going to tell you that you're on the right path and to keep it up, and ignore that number on the scale. Just keep on keeping track of your calorie/sugar intake and how it affects your blood sugar.

Either way, I salute you for your dedication to a low-cal lifestyle. I'd have eaten my pets and furniture by now.  [beer]

Thanks for the post.  I've been doing a pile of independent research and empirical testing on myself to find cause and effect.  It looks like the added muscle mass is finally having a stabilizing effect on blood sugar again.  I just don't know why it got out of wack the last 6 months.
