Ok...Here is the question...is a Squid someone who is a danger to themselves and those around them...or is it deeper than that?  I read alot about them being in shorts and t-shirts...is that part of the definition?  If so, then would one be considered a squid if their riding gear was soaked, and they rode without it?  Just curious.

I would say one who rides recklessly, beyond his abilties with a blatant disregard for his fellow man. In shorts and flip flops. Oh yeah and he MUST be riding japanese.. [roll]

This is a pretty bold thing to say IMO, correct me if i am wrong but I read about a local racer who crashed his Duc into the back of a car doing well over the speed limit.  Gear or not squid move by a person who can obviously ride, and I am sure was wearing riding gear on a Italian bike.

Understood....Thanks for all of the input and threads!  I didn't realize the magnitude of it all!  I think the best definition was = "anyone you would look at and call a tool"  Very good...

But that's not to say that squids are only people that don't wear gear.  There are plenty of them that have on gear.

Are the highway patrol squids? They don't wear gear.  I'm understand wearing gear to get on the highway or some back road riding but its 100 degrees here in Atlanta. I ride around in a t-shirt all the time. I actually think I would passout if I wore a jacket and had to sit in stop and go traffic for more than 30 minutes.

Those pics are too funny... It looks like Myrtle Beach Bike Week, or just Myrtle Beach for that matter...

Ya know... I was thinking about this just the other day driving right along side one of the motorcycle LEO around town... No gloves, the 3/4 helmet, no jacket, etc.  I know they go through some intense training, but still, dress for the crash right?  I wonder why they dont wear more gear?
