i'm getting ready to head home and have a couple pints actually...in cans even!  how convenient!  with any luck and a few beers (and a great selection of bolts and washers at elliots), the SS will be ready to roll later this evening.   [thumbsup]

How different is this tool from the one for an Ohlins shock?  I have one and another one when the shock is in a tight space.

I emailed Motowheels and they said that the Ohilns tool wouldn't work on the Showa shock.  It might, but I'd rather get the right tool for the job than mar up my shock plates.
