I've been wanting to purchase a dainese jacket for a while now...I think that they probably make the best looking jackets available.  But I just can't get past the fact that there company symbol is of a Devil.  Anyone else have the same issue or could provide some more insight into the background and reasoning behind this.  I read that Lino (Owner) created the devil symbol before he even started the company.  It say's on their website and I quote: "The devil runs fast and looks at the world through a magical lens, seeing things that others cannot yet even imagine."

Thanks for the input just trying to find justifaction for the purchase.

It's not a devil....

it's a bird of some kind - probably an eagle  [Dolph]

Just curious... is it a religious issue?

Anyways, could be a fox... or alien.

Yes, I guess you could say that...I believe in God and I also believe there is a devil.

I understand the intellectual reason for your dilemma. Not to butt heads, but when companies feature a cross or any kind organized-religious symbol on their product, I won't buy it.

All I can offer is that I feel (especially in this context) the devil just represents an idea or an attitude, not necessarily religious dogma.

Besides, Dainese is Italian... most people working for the company are probably Catholics (in some capacity). Now, whether or not that offends you more or less than the Devil is dependent on your own religion, I suppose.

If it bothers you get something else.  There are plenty of options for awesome leathers.  Personally it wouldn't bother me, though I'd probably slightly prefer something else.  Alpinestars has some nice gear and is a solid SoCal company without any religious overtones as far as I've noticed.

Devils and demons seem pretty popular in italian moto culture - P tires (dieblo, angle, etc), ducati dieval etc.

If it matters, Icon stitches st. Christopher medals in their jacket pockets...

You could look at Rev'it. No know overtones and high end stuff.

Actually, they are also an Italian company.

But as far as Dainese's logo, I think it's definitely an eagle of some kind.  Or perhaps a bird.
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

i personally hate some of the dainese jackets because they slap their name in big letters or use the demon head on it, in large format, it ruins the look and honestly doesn't look like that great of a logo.

now some of their jackets really dont' show the logo on teh outside and those might be what you are looking for.

if not get a bmw riding jacket they make some nice stuff.  i love their gear.

Who cares, I doubt that 99.9% think "evil" or "devil" when they see the logo, I never have.

He cares... it's just so.

That limits your options on a future Diavel purchase, if you have any! Hey, just joking  ;D

As the previous posters have commented... there are plenty of other quality leather companies who you can do business with, and fulfil your personal beliefs.

The Wife doesn't recognize the Dainese name.  She sees a little fox when looking at the company logo.

Back to topic.  My view is that it shouldn't matter whether or not the company logo is the devil.  The founder's intend was not create a demonic symbol/cult or to worship the devil.  People who wear dainese aren't announcing to the world with "I am now the devil worshipper with the marking of the beast on my body".  Far from that.

Let me give you an example and maybe it would ease your mind.  Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, was founded by Methodists, an denomination of Christianity, yet it's mascot is the Blue Devil.  I don't think people associate Duke fans with the devil when they are all decked out in Blue Devil merchandise and blue body paint (well, some might argue that they are).

As far as the Dainese and the "devil" logo is concerned, I wouldn't go crazy splitting hair on this one.

My 2 cents.
