Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, was founded by Methodists, an denomination of Christianity, yet it's mascot is the Blue Devil.  I don't think people associate Duke fans with the devil when they are all decked out in Blue Devil merchandise and blue body paint (well, some might argue that they are).

There's a Demon Deacons as well...

Their logo doesn't matter to me either, but it ain't my cash. And, for the most part, we're looking at this with our American perceptions and history. Symbols mean a lot of different things given history and setting. Take the swastika - originally it represented the suns rays and was an attribute of Vishnu of the Hindu pantheon. After 1938 its meaning for a lot of the world changed a ton. Same symbol... big difference in perception.

The symbol could have a considerably different historic meaning in Italy... so consider that. But like I said, not my cash, not my comfort He'll do what he needs
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
- '00 M900S with all the farkles
- '08 KTM 690 StupidMoto
- '07 Triumph 675 Track bike.

+1 Couldn't agree more.  I do think the OP wants to purchase the said Dainese jacket and is looking for some moral support (or support for lack of moral  [cheeky])

I understand all of your points.  I do already have a nice Alpinestars leather jacket (RC-51) that I've had now for 3 years.  It's nice but it's a little too aggressive or sport "bikeish".  Hence the reason why I've been looking at other jackets; specifically the Dainese.  I think the Dainese might fit me the best since I'm a thinner build and asthetically they make really nice jackets, gloves etc...

What bothered me the most was what is quoted on the Dainese website...which I made reference to in one of my earlier posts:  Saying something about how the devil sees through a magical lens seeing things others cannot yet even imagine.  To me this is not a very "light" statement...and it leads me to believe that Lino has some type of beliefs in the devil/demons or whatever that is able to help him...

Anyways; I guess unless we hear it directly from the horses mouth (Lino) we won't know what his true intent is on his logo or his beliefs.

Maybe I'm making a bigger deal out of it than it should be...

This is what's important:

"Protecting humans from head to foot is the mission of Dainese S.p.A. (hereinafter the "Company" or the "Parent company"), the leading Italian company worldwide in the manufacturing of protective clothing for motorcyclists and dynamic sports enthusiasts."

• You want to protect your body.
• They make some of the highest quality body armor.

If you're worried about something "supernatural" you may consider taking it to a fellow member of your religion and have them bless it if that would comfort you. And its odd to think of Lino Dainese as an evil devil worshipper that pursed a career in protecting people from harm.  ???

stopintime

Your feelings on the subject are just fine.
Nobody can tell you to feel different.

It's not easy to know the logo background, but from my minor understanding it might very well be that it's the opposite of worship.
With all their effort into safety, they laugh in the face of evil - trusting their effort and Maybe God, to keep them/us safe.

If you don't feel comfortable with it - don't wear it.
As others mention - AlpineStars and Rev'it are probably as good.
252,000 km/seventeen years - loving it

Definately  !     [roll]

Please choose another brand, this bothers you way to much!  All of us Roman Catholics are  evil, and underground devil worshipers including  the Dainese designer.   [roll]
Like others have posted,  lots of different meanings, from all the different cultures, and history in and around Italy.
Look at the big picture, the company specializes at making the very best safety gear! Not very evil sounding to me.   :-\

So relax and.   [drink]

Its definitely a devil. I saw a documentary about it. as far as religious overtones i dont think there is any to speak of. Dainese's founder used it to refer to attitude... Anyone familiar with the quote ride like the devil or descend like a devil?... Thats all it is. But if it makes you feel better i think referring to the logo as a fox works too.

Everytime before I wear mine I sacrifice a pig first and sprinkle my head with the blood, then once I put it on my eyes glow and I have the urge to have unprotected and out of holy wedlock sex with hot young females on the back of my bike.

The brand is Evil for sure
