I was pleasantly surprised when I cut my CF tail with a thin Dremel (copy) cutting wheel.

Like butter and with no rough edges - just a light sanding to round them off.

My tail is probably not as thick as your fender, but I think it'll go very well.

WARNING: someone said CF dust is NOT ok to inhale. Wear a mask.

In my kit, there are two. One is not much thicker than paper and that's the one I used. The other is about 1 mm and I think it's meant for cutting metal.

Maybe you should do a test run close to the current edge, so you're prepared when you cut where you want....

Just make sure you wear a mask as the air born dust is deadly if inhaled... [bang]

Very fine grade finishing paper will give a good result... [thumbsup]

I've done a lot of these.  Dremel is your friend.  Use a low speed since CF is hard.
+1 on the face mask.  Also use safety googles.  CF throws off a fine dust, but is very easy to trim.
