I should say something responsible and p-c about this, but I can't. Darwin is laughing his arse off over this one right now!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

My bet is that they both knew each other and both were a little shit faced after leaving the same bar. They were screwing around and it went bad.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Can't believe these two fools found each other.  The guy in the truck may have had no way to avoid the accident, but now it's felony DUI time. Wonder if the guy on the bike was drinking too? No helmet? A make the beast with two backsing idiot at best. Just maybe a slightly different species of idiot than the imbibing truck driver.

The only problem I see is that the motorcycle didn't go through the windshield and kill the car driver too.  Other than that it seemed to work out just fine.  One idiot dead and one idiot in jail.

"Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent - I don't care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator."

jesse370

while its kinda ironic the drunk probably had no chance to avoid this.......

at the same point, how often do we hear about a guy or girl on a bike getting maimed or killed and the make the beast with two backsing driver gets nothing more then a slap on the wrist.

"Court records show that Catacora has been convicted at least three times in the past on DWI charges."

3 ?! how is it even posible that this guy was driving at all?!

thank god nobody else was involved...

TiNi

it's an unfortunate thing that people that get suspended for dwi can still drive illegally...
what can be done to stop them?

"yo, that suchs, yo"

"so here is the deal: i need to buy cigarets. Can i borrow your car?"

so, what if they got caught driving cuz's car for the butt/6-pack run?
should they lose their driving privileges forever?
would that be enough?
i don't think there is a solution  :-\

...i think they should lose their privileges forever. As you say they are "priviliges"...

would that be enough?... in many cases, probably not. But a good 6months of prison no parol, no discounts would narrow down the number by a lot...

you are correct. I dont think there is a definitive solution.

But something in the process, as it is now, is not working as it should...

In california there is 0 tollerance (o.o8 and your done, i think) but still i see drunk drivers ALL the time.
In my opinion, lowering the point where you are considered drunk has little effect.
There should be more severe punishments, for those who are cought being drunk and driving, instead.

I feel that knowing that the punishment will be tough AND you will be punished AND will have to serve, with no chanse of discounts what so ever, would be more effective than making you legally drunk after having a sip of cyder but then letting you go earlyer if your lawyer is a good one...

know what i meen?  ;)
