You can always get a small cable lock.

I think I'm gonna pick up one of these Safeman locks.  It looks like it can fit under the seat.

if someone really wants your helmet, and it's on your bike, they will get it. no matter the device attaching it. just take it with you...

I have seen where people just cut the strap and walk off with the helmet anyway...

I have gotten into the habit of when I need to lock my helmet, of putting the mirror right through the eyeport from underneath the helmet and then I use a U-Lock wih reminder cable to lock the helmet down to the bike through the same porthole. This provides me with a couple of valuable things. 1) it makes the helmet be in a spot where if some dickwad knocks my bike over, my helmet is generally going to be in a spot where it is unharmed. 2) makes it wicked obvious to anyone that if they do not own the bike and trying to take the helmet, that they are make the beast with two backsing with someone's shit. 3) it is a much securer way of ensuring the security of your helmet being there, as apposed to a chin strap for the reasosn I state above. 4) it is also positioned in such a way, that generally rain and other stuff isn't going to fall into the liner of your helmet....

It's just to keep people honest.  Hell, 2 guys can pick up your bike and throw it in a van if they really wanted to.

i was going to mount it to the center of my handle bar. the wire one looks great since i can loop it through and if someone steals my helmet. let them. I dont ride with my nice helmet anyway. MY scoprion EXO700 is banged up enough already.

and if they cut the straps off, they must really need it so let them have it. but like its said before, its just to keep people honest. and douche bags from just taking the helmet.

Aside from that, I carry A ton of shit with me (book bag for school + gym bag with bxoing gloves/shorts/facemask/ shinguards etc. i dont need a helmet with me too. If i could get a touring case and lock up my equipment too! oh man that would be great.....so would a new bike.

I use one of these. http://www.bicyclestore.com.au/basta-ba7-junior-coil-key-lock.html

Simple, can fit in your jacket pocket plus it won't scratch your bike or helmet. I flip up the visor of my helmet and strap it over the chin bar. It is also long enough to fit through the arm of my jacket so I can leave my helmet and jacket on my bike.

Just get the guy in that video to hold it for you while you go into the store. I'd think twice about trying to take it from him.
