Alan and I are having our semi-annual BBQ on Sunday, October 23rd.  This year I thought it would be nice to throw in a Muenster ride too.  So we would leave from Grapevine Mills Mall around 10 am then cruise out t o Muenster and the windmills.  Taking our time, we would be back to our house in Flower Mound by mid-afternoon,   BBQ served immediately so everyone can be home early-ish (since it is a school night)  [evil]

If you don't have time for both ride and BBQ, I hope you can make one or the other.

Also, since this is a ride day too, there's is no need to bring anything for the meal - we've got it covered.

SO! what say you - yea or nay?

Sounds really nice. [thumbsup] [Dolph] If the weather is good I'd like to make this. Are you planning for lunch in Muenster or skipping it in lieu of Boyd BBQ? [popcorn]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

I'd love to attend. I'll keep you posted. Thanks!  :)

Damnit!  Haven't seen many of you in a while but I'll be in transit that day.  Going to toss a new clutch and sprockets in the sh!t hot, and maybe even re-register it while I'm at it...

Have fun, will seek some other venue to see folks as I'm slowly getting back on my damn foot...

Did the Muenster run and north 373 loop to Saint Jo on Wednesday. Roads were great. Just a couple of dings in the road on 730 about a mile from the t-intersection with 455. Everything else was like an Arkanasas road.[thumbsup]

But... from Forestburg to the 373 intersection on 922 it was the worst 18 wheeler/gravel hauler traffic I have ever seen! That's coming from a guy whose family owns a trucking company!! [bang] I don't know where they were coming from or where they were going but they were everywhere! Singles and groups of 2-4. A couple of tankers but all the rest were gravel haulers. And if you don't know they are the worst of all truck drivers. They drive balls to the wall to make as many runs as they can in a day. Loaded or empty. If they had that experience on their job applications with our family company they went straight into the trash can!

Over half of them were all over both lanes. Several times the one I was passing would drift over on me and try to squeeze me out. And just as often the ones coming at me were in my lane. Honking the horn and flipping them off had zero effect. :P I can't believe they haven't killed someone in a car or truck. Seriously, sometimes the one I was following would spend more time in the oncoming lane more than they would be in their own lane. It was like they owned the road and would put the lane dividing stripe right in the middle of their hood! You really had to time your pass. When they would drift back into their proper lane I would scoot by. But like I said, it was like "you aren't passing me bike rider!!" and they would immediately drift left as you started your pass. Total bullshit.

Ridden that route for dozens of years and I have never, ever seen anything as bad as Wednesday's ride. Everything else was great. Just that one 20 mile stretch of road. It made me do the 373 north loop to Saint Jo after lunch in Muenster just so I wouldn't have to ride 922 again on the way back.

Be safe out there. [thumbsup] [Dolph]

Bumpitty-bump  ;D

One week to go and I'm hoping you guys can give us a head count.  Sound off please if you know you're going to attend.  We'll start serving dinner around 5 but feel free to come over anytime after 3:30.

We're having BBQ ribs, potato salad, cole slaw.  We'll have a dessert (TBA) and  drinks.  No need to bring anything unless you really want to.

Still planning on a pre-BBQ Muenster Run.  I'd like to leave from Grapevine Mills mall around 10 am.  If you'd like to do this ride, please sound off  ;D

And if you can do only one thing and not the other, no worries - should be a great weekend for just kicking around!
