make a mold and cast your own buckle.  It's easier than you think.

umm, that would require skills in the drawing area.
i can melt the metal, i can pour it, i can clean it up and figure out hwo to make it fit.
i can even make the mold, i just need someone to make me the positive.

<edit> Just seating the drive shaft into the bearing block.  Tight fit. . . I got out the big hammer :D
