You guys have it all wrong. It's the Puerto Rican version of the Monster with the Jlo sized ass.

Just read on another forum that Ducati have said it's another version of the 696 and will only be for the Asian market. Something to do with the new factory in Thailand so expect a few more for that market

that would be pretty amazing considering they haven't built that factory yet.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Quote"Ducati and they have confirmed this is an Asian market only Monster which will have a slightly modified 696 engine. It will not be available in the UK or Europe. It’s the first product to come from a new assembly plant built by Ducati in Thailand"

That's what I read

Since we are throwing out ideas out like pitches here's one.

A complete frameless bike.  The engine has a subsection to hold the head tube, then a seat bolted to the rear cylinder head.  This would create the most ultimate naked bike ever made.

looks like a pretty standard non-evo monster to me with a windscreen and low seat. without seeing the motor, there's no reasonable way to guess as to what is under there.

The current rumour is that it is a Monster 795 - basically a 696 with a larger bore:

seems like it would be pretty difficult to successfully market it and a 796 Monster, might be better of with a 400 for the Asian markets.   seems more likely to be a 696 or 796 City or Touring model.

Raux

Actually makes sense
a796 motor in the shorter 696 chassis for the asian market
But i doubt a new motor
just the 796 with the 66mm stroke

junior varsity

i highly doubt the "795" will be present in a market with a "796"

I agree, maybe they will just offer the 696, 795 and 1100 in the asian market

just like the 695 is only offered in teh Australian market

ducatiz

Asian market always has a 400cc due to tax/output licensing laws there (Japan).

Probably will not see a mid range below 800 cc

no, they haven't made a 400cc class bike for a while -- 2004?  maybe they won't be doing that at all given they don't want to have "entry level" bikes anymore.

Yeah the monster 400 was made until 06.

People don't really miss them in Japan, because many riders realized that if you want a Ducati, a 400cc won't satisfy you.

Yes, I'm one of them riders  ;D
