I'm about 170 with gear and 5'7.  Insert song lyrics about I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller....

back the preload out - if you are using clipons, which get more weight over the front end, you might be "pretty close" when you get sag set up - close enough for gov't work - and can weight to change springs until "tomorrow".   If you are riding a s2r 'geezer-glider-special' (with riser on handlebars or 'tall-boys' mounted above the triple), you've taken even more weight off the front than originally, and you'll see it when trying to set the sag f/r, would be more likely to need to drop a spring # or 2 as I doubt backing out preload will do enough then.

also, if you are 170 with gear - and that meaning boots, leathers, back protector, gloves, helmet - stop on your way home and eat a hamburger.  you sound emaciated for a 'merican.

Yea. I'm about 205lb geared up. The .95 springs (and tasty ohlins valves) in my 999 forks seem perfect, although i did jack the rear up a bit.

I've got the ohlins internals in my 998 forks, they are fantastic indeed. And likewise, the OEM sbk springs work great for me (with preload wound in a bit - i'm a bit heavier - by at least 25 lbs.)

Just ate a burger for lunch with fries and a shake in your honor.  I've been gifted with an awesome metabolism (shout out to my rents) and at 31 still look like I did at 25.

I've got clip-ons to help put more weight over the front end and I'll check to make sure the preload is backed out all the way.  May be just a tweak here or there but should be set.  Never knew the S2R was the geezer glider  [Dolph]

I do suppose 'geezer glider' is less derogatory than 'chick bike,' which I used to ride (M620)

Geezer Glider is for the super comfy raised handlebar setups, squishy gel seats and generally "grocery-getter"

Well the Frankenmonster is coming along nicely.  Rode without a front fender in the rain.  What a difference a little bit of CF makes.  I'm now playing with the idea of changing out hte matte black tank witht he yellow racing stripe with an acid yellow tank and black racing stripe.  Thoughts?

idk, I like the dark/yellow stripe better

Put the yellow tank back on and the bike looks better in black.  The seat cowl will be treated pretty soon to match the tank.  [clap]  Next to wrap the forks in black.
